The tale of the lost transporter hatch

During a house move in the mid 90s my childhood transporter suffered damage during transit. A disillusioned teenager I was i threw the top half with disgust including one of the covers as that too hot damaged. Roll on to the early 2000s my peak buying of vintage starwars i found my rebel transporter again in storage with it now just being the bottom part I took of the hatch knowing it would be an easy £10 on the collector market as I pulled it off I dropped it on the junk/storage room floor. I couldn't find it. Frustratingly I check for several days and not finding it still. Every few years I have a quick look on the junk room floor at my parents but I still cant find it.

I recently picked up a cracked top half thinking I should maybe restore my childhood transporter it was my favourite playset as a child. I'm loathed to buying buying a transporter hatch when I know it's in that room.

Should I have one more look. Like the penny you drop on the floor its rolled to somewhere. Maybe I did find it in my drunken 20s and sell it I'm 99% I never did though. Maybe I should go through my paypal history of the past 3 decades.

I replaced my childhood one a few years back, you certainly need to hatch a plan.

Theres nothing worse than dropping something on the floor and it falls into the void! It happens to me all the time while im building/painting models...the worse thing is i have a hardwood floor in my hobby room and more often than not i hear whatever i've dropped bouncing around below me and try to track it with sound but it just vanishes then usually turns up a week or so later a good few feet from where i dropped it
