No, I don't read this rag but this was bought to my attention:

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/2271706/are-your-star-wars-toys-worth-hundreds-of-pounds-vintage-r2d2-and-darth-vader-figures-fetching-over-1000-online/

Where the hell are these prices coming from?!!

Buying loose figures will now be even harder - "my Vader is worth £3000, it says so in The Sun".

The article is pathetic. What this sort of **** may achieve will be a big second coming of potf2 where people are buying thousands of these things to store because the sun says at some point a £19.99 black series figure will be worth £6K

Stock up on Rogue One figure to sell to mouth breathers for a bargain £100 each.

That's weird, it's not like the Sun to exaggerate and lie?! There'll be a few ladders going into lofts today, some serious cash in the attic. There's gold in them there beaters!!! People hoping to get 3 grand for a chewed Vader are going to be seriously dissapointed.

Keep an eye on the comments section for added lunacy...

I don't know what you're all complaining about. Surely this article is entirely complete and accurate, like every other story gracing the pages of that bastion of truth and veracity, The Sun?

Right, I'm off to buy thousands of Rogue One figures as an investment for the future, but only after paying ten grand for a loose Ree Yees; is anyone out there willing to part with one?

As per usual put things in the hands of those that don't know and the end result is a total "pigs ear" and an article reading 99% total utter bollocks :!: :!: :!:

There is the germ of a good idea here - that toys which originally sold for £1.50 are now selling for large £xx.

However that idea's been executed SO poorly, with photos of loose figures rather than carded. Also, bizarrely, the original sale price isn't even consistent. According to the Sun R2D2 was £1.99, so why was Vader £2.69? A couple more figures down and apparently Farmboy Luke originally retailed for £2.67? What retailer would ever price something at £2.67?!

If anyone reading this still buys the Sun, this is a great example of the amount of effort they put into their journalism.

The problem here is a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing. It will do one of 2 things:

1. More people will assume there loose figures are worth mega money. This is nothing new but everytime something like this happens (like the £18k Palitoy Fett) there's a spike is stupid prices being asked and being realised.

2. More newbs entering the collecting game in the hope of making their fortune, making it harder for us to catch a deal at the right price.

The Sun is such a pile of shite, I hate it with a passion.

WTF !!!!

Get ready for the next wave of newbie collectors only in it for the £££££ . Oh and the how much is this worth ? Bollocks

I'm speech-less. I don't read newspapers, but now I understand why the Sun has the reputation it does.

Pathetic

Anyone who buys this paper should hang their heads in shame :x

I filled up with fuel recently and was offered a free copy, no idea why.
I declined the offer, the lady serving insisted though, so knowing I always need newspapers for the chicken coop I relented and took one.. at least the **** its covered in now is only the same as the **** they print on it in the first place...

I was thinking of getting a new display cabinet for xmas to fill with loose figures, but after seeing that article I think I will give it a miss. everyone on Ebay will be asking stupid money for average loose figures.

I don't read the rags, no point  sensationalist rubbish!

Shakespeare....The devil will cite scripture for his purpose!

Or Nietzsche says, "I don't mind that you lied to me, but that I can't believe you from now on!"
