Tonight's round up of FB stupidity (all Fett related)

FB "I just don't understand the obsession with foreign release cards ..."

That's because you're American and stupid.

FB "Yes it seems a lot of money! Likely I local bidder I'm guessing and someone with a Boba focus perhaps? Once it's graded would be worth it.. Still a craaaaaaazzzzzzzyyyy amount!" & "Not that it matters, but can't find one on the AFA population report.."

That's because you're AFA obsessed and stupid.

FB "#2 It's probably Carded DT Luke rare and certainly more that a vc Jawa rare, and those figures sell for $10k+."

Uninformed and stupid.

FB "Two things are obvious concerning the UK.They have an appetite for vintage SW toys.and they have $ to spend on it...."

Actually we use £

FB "It is interesting, and this is changing in the comic hobby. The UK variants of key silver age comics usually are valued at about 1/3rd the value of their American counterparts. Their print runs were only about 10% of the US versions though. I don't know if that is because that hobby has a stronger US base. This is changing though. My point being I just think the vintage Star Wars hobby is much bigger worldwide."

I don't understand a word of that.

And my favourite saved til the end ...

"FB "#3 It's likely Boba Fett first European issue."

Unbelievable, uninformed and stupid.

Some of those are comedy gold and I agree the amount of stupidity and the amount of "collectors" who are uninformed on facebook is unbelievable! :?

Was the comic comparison comment made by someone with the initials B.J. by any chance? ;)

PS: I've made an effort to avoid even looking at any FB group today

Yeah, FB is getting really tiresome. About 10% of what pops up in my feed is not bollocks.

(That's not to say I'm obsessed with testicle related FB groups.)

Haha 8)

And yes Joe, it was Mr BJ

Haha! I can spot a Mr BJ comment from a mile off!

Comics blah blah prices are rising blah blah I don't U grade (yet have sold them in the past) blah blah I have no idea what I am talking about blah blah oh and did I mention comics yet? BLAH BLAH BLAH

Oh I know, I had a few people contact me (including him) asking me to remove his name from one of my posts recently ;)

I won't tell you the reason, it's as laughable as his comments :)

Facebook only reveals how many idiots there are in the world, depressing isn't it.

I will say in his defence...he is not the only comic book guy that cant seem to stay away from trying to cross comics collecting with collecting vintage carded.

I better be careful what I say in the FB groups or else my friends across the pond (and Todd, who lives on a pond) might make fun of me..... :( :( :(

Seriously thought, there are idiots everywhere, folks. On the forums, on Facebook, at my job, working in my office at my computer right now. Hold on....

Sometimes the problem is they are not put in check by the Admins Ross...not talking about you...but you know damn well this is entertaining for some of the guys that run these pages. Here..we typically set them on fire and they either leave or get banned.

Taking the piss out of people that talk out of their backsides is an old English pastime Ross, it's also something SWF members are quite good at! (You get used to it the more you hang around  )

As mean as it sounds, we love to have a giggle at the uninformed loud mouths that spout nonsense left right and center and luckily for us, FB has an unlimited supply of them

I have managed to avoid all Facebook groups so far as I don't really like Facebook let alone the Star Wars groups. I whent on the other night to try and look for some items for sale. But it seams you can't look unless you join the individual group which I am not willing to do. Am I being stupid or missing out on anything?

To add ...no need to make this a FB versus forum thread...there is one on RS already. Besides SWFUK is far superior to Facebook anyways (Keep in mind I have a group of my own and co-admin one. )

As Joe said....SWFUK has had members come and go...but the vibe stays the same. 8)

If you aren't on FB at the moment for personal reasons then I wouldn't say it was worth joining just for SW. I know people that have done exactly that and while it's nice to see them on FB..they seem to join thinking it's raining good deals or prototypes or whatever and the reality is far..far different.

I'm sure there are good deals to find on FB but really, most of the stuff that's changing hands is either from eBay or the forums anyway so all you are really doing is getting a second chance at something you lost on ebay and giving the guy that actually bought it some extra pocket money at the same time.

Having said that, I'm quite a big fan of certain FB groups and I think the fact that you can reach people quicker on FB (by tagging them so they get notifications etc) is a big plus and something the forums lack.

The biggest downside to FB is that knowledge is sadly not a requirement and you quite often have to wade through a **** load of guff, written by total amateurs in order to find a genuinely interesting comment or thread.

By all means give it a go if you genuinely think you are missing out but don't sign up with very high expectations because IMO, you will be disappointed.

Thanks you've sealed the deal for me, I won't bother joining any.

If you see any Palitoy Boba Fetts for under 20k let me know I might be interested.
