Musical taste is as personal as the type of undies you like to wear but to say our music industry on a whole is **** is just an ignorant comment plain and simple
Your statement makes it sound as if you have an absolute intimate knowledge of every band to ever come out of Australia ( which I find very hard to believe ).
If you truly beleive we are 10 years behind the UK then could it also be argued the UK is and always has been 10+ years behind the US. But once again that would be a stupid generalisation on my behalf so I won't make it.

I have been exposed to a lot of Australian music as I used to produce a TV show in Australia called Chilli Factor and we were sent music each week of the latest releases by Australian music labels wanting us to feature their music. My honest opininon of what I heard wasn't great, hence my comment. Sorry if it offended you no harm meant and it is only my opinion....but
To say the UK is 10 years + behind the States come on, do you honestly believe that. The UK is respected World wide for the quality and originality of our music and the genres created from this tiny island.

Not sure I can agree you've been exposed to the best we have to offer by producing a music show where music labels are dictating what you are sent to listen too. Music labels and the corporates that run them are the reason ( in my opinion ) for the decline in quality music exposure world wide.

I listen to a lot of community radio where I live, I hear a heap of music daily which is fantastic but because it's not the flavour of the month for the record companies the chance of 10% of our country ever hearing it in the mainstream is minute, let alone people living in another country.
