The Star Wars market and leaving the EU

Passed on two grails in this last week because of the exchange rate - sad times

How about a little optimism here: maybe the UK will sign a free trade deal with the states then we'll have no more import tax!

For me this is a killer. I'm English but I have lived in the Netherlands for the last 16 years, and my focus is Palitoy debut MOCs. These are of course mostly located in the UK.
I've got about 50 so far, but after the easy and lucky deals, things start to get really expensive. I've backed off during the last couple of years due to the increasingly crazy prices, but now adding import tax on top may be the final nail in the coffin.
I might have a temporary good patch where the pound is weaker and the UK is still part of the EU (not that I want the pound to be weaker, that's not good for anyone particularly you guys), but once the Brexit is complete that will probably be that.

Time to start collecting Clipper. :D

With the £ going down at the moment I think more will buy in the uk and pay a little extra because they know they save some money. I am also sure about the £ will go up again.

I also think the UK will make a free trade with EU if there is a EU in the future.

**** it's still dropping like a stone guys, juts checked PP & check out that conversion rate - Conversion rate: 1 GBP = 1.2527 USD

Soon we will be equal. Can i say on a positive note, this opens up more sales to the states, thus meaning people selling will potentially get more sales.

Without opening the political can of worms again, all I see so far is the "scare mongering" remain quoted materialising, and the "benefits" leave harped on about vanishing in to thin air. Boo.

Trying to keep the worms in the can as well but all this has happened and we still haven't invoked article 50.

These are unsettled times we live in.

I do not understand why it is going so slow with this article 50, why not do it fast :?

There is no benefit in doing it quickly. Once triggered we have 2 years to exit - it can take a year to buy a house, so any chance of agreeing multiple trade deals which are mutually beneficial in 2 years is absolute fantasy.

Have you ever heard of something called buyers remorse.

I was just thinking everything is so unstable when no one is doing anything. Just look at the £ that is going down. Workers and factory owners want to know what is going to happen and how the future would be. They need to know about where there would be free trade or not. Etc.Etc.

Once a50 is triggered (if done soon), the uncertainty will increase - markets will drop further and the £ will be further devalued as everybody knows the agreements won't be made in time, so a period in limbo will be priced in.

At the moment there is still an underlying feeling that we might stay in, in all but name - a 'brexit-lite'. Once this disappears the markets will react.

until the new PM is in and starts the reassurance process (and bloody papers stop printing horror stories) the £ is going to keep fluctuating.

all it would take is one bit of good trade news like a deal with USA for it to rise, like mentioned, we are still in the EU and will be for a further 2 years so all actually price valuations are purely skeptical analysis, nothing has changed....yet

ebay sales will fly with the $ being stronger against the £ though lol
