So! On the eve of the TdF I'm bouncing with excitement. Can wait for this years edition, ok bit gutted Wiggo won't be doing battle but its still going to be a belter.

Froome V Contador for GC and Cav V Peter Sagan for the green sprinters jersey.

Can't rule out Cadel Evens, no one battles or can ride in pain like he can. And Joaquim Rodriguez could be a good outside bet.

And to top it all I'll be there on the Champs Élysées to see the final stage.:D

Always loved a bit of the Tour d'France - remember the days of Sean Yates, Robert Miller and Stephen Roche

Shame most of those in the 1990-2000s have been so tainted.

Reckon Froome should do it and Cav is now in a team set up to win stages so he should get the Green

Agree about Cav, should take the green jersey, well set up this year round. Love the TDF.....great entertainment for the next few weeks.... :D

Yes very much looking forward to the Tour, barring any crashes and dodgy blocking tactics Cav will take the green jersey with ease, he is by far the best sprinter about and should take 5 stage wins Imo. Agree with Iain his new team will do everything to get him those wins and the green jersey unlike last year with sky when it was all about wiggo.

As for the winner, a tough call and would obviously love froome to win after his sterling effort last year, he's in top form but reckon it's gonna be very close.

C'mon the brits :D

That's going to be an amazing experience Dave, have fun :)

Love this time of year- let's hope it'll be as rewarding for us Brits once again... looking forward to the coverage, and I know I'm being a tad early here... but I can't wait for the Grand Départ here in Yorkshire next year :D

Rebel Runner, you lucky sod  have a smashing time of it on the Champs Élysées- post some photos when you get chance, will you :?:

@iain: some big names there mate, real legends of the sport. Unfortunately it would appear that most riders of that era were dabbling in some sort of PED's. especially Roache who "allegedly" like a drop of EPO. His son Nicolas is a great rider.

@TC: yep ill defo put some photos up. Most probably be the back of people's heads as it will be 20 deep all the way around. 2014 TdF in Yorkshire and London will be fantastic.

Yeah, I would have thought the bulk of them were at it - I used to love Indurain but allegedly he was at it as well

Nicolas Roache is a good rider - reckon if he were a Brit then he would get a lot more exposure - 4 top 25 finishes in the Tour the last 4 years

Been racing today so missed all the action. Just been catching up. Sounds like a right royal farce! Tony Martin's in a right state, ill be amazed if he can continue.

Love the way Oraca GreenEdge get a £1,300 slap on the wrist

Very true..

14th today. Every chance of another top 25 this year too... Or possibly even better.
