Ok, as there appears to be a few people a bit peved that others come on here only to sell, or only posting links to their auctions etc I thought we'd have a poll to see what way people want to treat it.

I think we should wipe out all the old FS threads and start fresh, no one-off posts no newbies coming on once ect.

you need 25 posts to start selling otherwise automatically deleted and warned, how does that sound?

I think it should be 3 & 4

Do you have any idea how ****ing long it took me do that FS thread of mine!?

I can see your logic though. Although, sometimes it does help being able to look back over old FS threads and see what prices people were looking.

I'm happy to go with the flow! Though I'll cry if I have to delete that FS thread of mine! (Emiel, don't even think about it! )

I think a bit of 3 and 4. Certain amount of time being here and also post count. The time thing will stop tossers making their post count up in one day etc with random shite.
And that Andy Plant **** shouldn't be allowed to flip stuff either just coz. Well unless it is the two for one offer with his missus again.

well obviously the missues offer works for you because you get 2 minutes and you only need 1, including the 55 seconds to get undressed.

As a new comer who has just recently bought from another member ( successfully ) I reckon the system works quite well but I would be hesitant to buy from a one post wonder and I can see how the current format leaves the door open for those annoying turds peddling their garbage. I think a minimal amount of posts before selling is a good idea, 25 sounds a fair enough number. The feedback thread works well and is a good reference but your never going to deter those a$$holes hell bent on ripping someone off . At the very least it will stop people spamming crap.

By the way how many posts before my lightsaber starts working? I'm starting to feel a bit inadequate

I think 3 & 4 too. But i think the only way this will work is for all new members to receive a "welcome" PM. In the PM this should be explained with the addition that if they are seen to be posting just to get their number up they will be in danger of being banned. "Real" members who wanna be part of the forum will have no problem with this whatsoever.
I joined a forum where after you joined you could only reply to threads for the first month of your membership, you couldn't 'start' threads. This also works but might be technically difficult to set up.

I think we might need Edd to look at seting something like that up so it happens automatically on joining. Otherwise us poor Mods will be flat out PM'ing the 101 randoms who join and never post.

problem is with the time a member is here, they can sign in, not post and leave it a month then list their shite, if we said say 25-50 posts then we can still weed them out if they are just spamming with one word posts.

Exactly my thinking in the post count option.
Although, at the same time we want this place to appear friendly so people join. If they sign up and get a list of 600 rules and regs they may well think "**** that!" I know I would!
