Well Tom does the authentication on vinyl Jawas and DTs and the like so I am going to guess no ...BUT with over 300 Graded vinyl Jawas so far I wouldn't rule out a mistake ;)

loving the rebo band too - Rock AND Roll!

Not the most obvious error, but no-one noticed this fella was a moulded legs Han :D

I remember seeing a graded loose Luke Bespin with a repro sabre on ebay - the seller made it a selling point

I had to look three times at the gam guard james but you can clearly see the paint loss and transferred paint on the inside of the acrylic case..doh !

Good one AFA!

Joe that AT-AT commander is still AFA 85 so he must still be worth loads!
Just cos his head might have fallen off doesn't mean he's worth any less, he's graded 85 after all!

I've never understood how AFA cases "protect" loose figures. Surely by definition there muct be some contact/rubbing between the figure and some part of the case and that's gonna lead to paint loss/transfer?!

Shipping AFA figures must be so nerve racking..

Wow, he just popped right out! They do double as a new game though - "Get the figure back in the bubble in 10 shakes"

Star Wars Return of the Jedi Han Solo Bespin

AFA 50 Graded 77 Card Back A

At auction is a 1983 ROTJ Han Solo Bespin on card. It's AFA graded 50 Y-VG+ with subgrades of Card 80, Bubble 50, and Figure 85. There is a hole in the top of the plastic bubble with allows the figure to move in and out of the bubble.

However, the entire card and figure are encased in the AFA plastic case for protection.

Good thread and some crazy pic's! Nice work AFA!

I have seen that they do protect the bubble now with extra plastic protecting the sides if requested I think!

i know i really dont understand how that happened as a graded loose figure collector i find this very disappointing

Just so we can look back and laugh in a few months -

Ah man that sucks ass! What were they thinking?? The job must be so mind numbing that they start passing anything!

That is a million times worse than the U graded Mexican bootleg that kicked up a storm on RS

This is an utter disgrace and it can give AFA not credibility whatsoever

I'd be tempted to buy it at that price and it could well become a very talked about item if the RS boys get a sniff of this

Yep , that's by far the worst example yet. And it Graded a 90?

That's the mintiest example of AFA stupidity I've ever seen.

If i worked for AFA i would have bought it and made sure it never saw the light of day again. Wouldn't surprise me if that's what happened.
