Just after Xmas i offered to give a presentation on "LXW a focus collection in the making" at the next Farthest From. Dave Tree took me upon the offer, and so began my quest for research. Truth be told, i knew feck all!
I decided to do a load of my own research but also contact as many specialists as i could think of; 3Pack, Meccano, Popy, Harbert, Preproduction, Proof, Baggie, Bootlegs and coins etc etc
Boy you guys came good. I was utterly blown over by the help which came flooding my way
I had spent days and nights compiling my research and shoehorned everything into a packed 53 slide presentation.
To build the context of how massive a character is at the beginning of my presentation i had a 2.30 minute movie clip to show. I had spent a fair bit of time editing together every time Luke's name was used in the original trilogy into a mini movie. Unfortunately even though i had tested the sound system at the event, there was absolutely no sound when the movie played which was fairly crushing, as it was just a load of soundless movie clips which added nothing
Anyway, i soldiered on.
Was the presentation any good? Well thats not the point, the point is that members of this forum were absolutely brilliant, and my knowledge of collecting has more than trebled!
I totally loved the experience and it has given me a thirst for more knowledge!
Throughout the presentation i gave thanks to the following people who provided information and gave me permission to use their photos.

However, the biggest thanks can only go to a chap called Marc Caraway AKA The Guilty One.
Marc is the world renown collector of vintage luke x wing pilots. He is the authority.
I contacted Marc and was absolutely bowled over my his helpfulness. Marc sent me over 60 High Res photos of his collection which is mind blowing. We must of had a dozen emails going back and forth.
Without his generous help and advice my presentation wouldn't have been possible .
Marc, i owe you a huge beer or whatever is your poison. I'm working on the helicopter flight buddy.
Finally, here's the video, it's pointless but it shows how important Luke was. No one got to hear it so i've just uploaded it cuz i spent too long cutting it for it to be lost forever!
