"One sold for £5700 recently but had a real extending lightsaber and cape"

I just sent him this:-

"Is this price a joke? I've got several of these (vintage original) that my kids play with, you can have some if you want, they are worthless."

He came back to me linking me to the dt vader, I told him his was worth about £2....

You almost feel sorry for these people - they see what they think is something really rare and then realise they have something similar - it happens all of the time now

Imagine thinking that you have a piece worth 3 grand then then finding it is worth about a quid

It's all too common.

Used to get this back in the early 90's when hitting carboot sales and star wars started to become popular.

Fett, Snag, Jawa all became over priced because someone had heard about the rarer version of each so made the incorrect assumption.

It's amazing what a lack of information can do.

My cousin in Vegas posted pics of a graded Leia and Han 12 back that were going for about $1500 each. He added "FML I had these". I told him, if everyone knew they would reach these prices they would have kept them unopened, and they wouldn't be worth that much. Also, just because you had them loose, didn't make them worth $5k each.

Looks like the price has now been adjusted, still to high but at least the seller took note.

I linked him to the 2 minty vaders for sale on here, so I suppose that's what changed his mind.
