Just a quick note to say I feel sorry for all of our American members. Tomorrow you gotta choose between an incompetent, narcissistic, egomaniac, who has some pretty derogatory views on women, and a thoroughly dislikeable and untrustworthy bitch. It's like choosing between being kick repetitively in the left bollock or being kicked repetitively in the right bollock. It's gonna hurt either way and you don't want either option.

Our politicians in the UK are pretty dreadful, but even our sub mediocre lot are a dam sight, I wanna say 'better' but I suspect 'less bad' is a more accurate phrase, than the two you have to choose between.

Obama hasn't been a great President, he was no friend of Britain's, and Dubbya was pretty piss poor, both those two are eminently more preferable than your current options.

I feel deeply sorry for you.

Sad indictment of your political system that those two are the "best" each side has to offer. Whoever wins will have won because the majority of their voters deemed them less unappealing than their opponent. Hardly a ringing endorsement.

Well we gotta choose one, either that or just don't bother to vote. Both of them are horrible, but I really don't think from a world view we need someone who as the diplomacy of a pig and the tact of an 8 year old bully representing our country. Hell..If that's what we want..I am running next time.

and no..I don't really care to hear about someones emails....all of these people talk smack and I am sure use their PC's for all sorts of stupid and non business crap.

Yeah, I suspect if I was entitled to vote she would get my vote purely because she isn't dumb enough to start WW3.
She is however someone I would never get tired of punching.

Yeah...I have no love for her. I figure that nothing will change with her in office for better or worse...the other guy on the other hand......

To be honest - I will just be glad when it is all over - it is a sad state of affairs when most votes cast tomorrow will be for the person that they 'hate' the least

Obama might not have got a lot done (in most people's eyes) but he is a damn sight more statesmanlike than either of these two

  I suppose that's one way of putting it, I don't know what sounds the worst pointy stilettos or a pair of cowboy boots

I don't feel sorry for America if he gets in they deserve him, yes Clinton is poor but I feel you always vote for who you deslike the least in politics. I think he's going to win as well, Leicester City winning the Premier League, Jeramy Corbin becoming Labour leader and the UK voting to leave the EU.

Nothing surprises me any more!

The very fact that someone with a lower IQ than George W. Bush can even run for presidency is a joke.

I do actually feel really sorry for anyone who votes for him, as long as you can keep your guns then everthing will be fine.

If he does get in I can't wait to see him build this wall across the Mexican boarder.

Was chatting with my brother in law at the weekend about this as he lives in the US... it's the worst candidacy in US history.

I certainly have no love for Trump that's for sure, I can see things going very wrong with him at the helm....and Clinton...well... just doesn't have the balls to run a country like America.. she can talk the talk... but the walking... errr no.

Both candidates never had any real competition though.... well apart from Bernie Sanders, but he never gave it as much as he could have. IMHO.

If I had the option... my vote would have to go to Clinton... purely as she has had experience in the White House, and been secretary of state... what's Trump done... built a few hotels !!

Shame Obama cant have a third term as I don't think he's done a bad job... he did turn his back on the UK before the Brexit vote went through, but he soon turned supportive again..

I really don't understand the utter disdain for Hilary personally. I guess that corruption is the message from her opposition, but there is generally far more smoke and mirrors than facts regarding what she is supposed to have done.
I also don't see how Obama can be seen as a poor President, it was clearly more of a failed system around him that stopped him achieving anything than that he personally failed, no man can run with his legs tied at the ankles and thighs...
Trump though is almost as mental as they come and is a very scary, but sadly very possible President.
The world is without doubt made up of a greater mass of people with lower levels of intelligence and in turn political understanding than is quite frankly safe... this mass if mobilised can make decisions that they don't understand and after the fact struggle to then understand why it all went wrong.
We have our own issues concerning EU exit plans that are greatly debated and documented and they must be a warning worldwide surely... A result whipped up by lies fed to the impressionable masses (good to see Trump and Farage together to overly illustrate the point in this election campaign, but it seems the fools over there loved him too!), that before it has even happened (we're still maybe 2 years from leaving.. if we ever do) has sent shockwaves though the western world's and our own economy... If Trump wins this thing no one can suggest the flashing warning lights weren't turned on well in advance...
For those in the minority, that both have the vote and a decent brain to actually understand the issues at hand, I do hold many sympathies too.

BTW.. anyone else think that Michelle Obama has been outstanding in this election? Now there is someone that actually should be President and would do the office proud.

Two reasons for me. Firstly, to borrow Anne Widicombe's phrase "there is something of the night about her". There is something about that woman that makes me feel she couldn't be trusted. When the brown stuff hits the fan her first thought is self preservation not, 'how do we sort this out'. Look at her behaviour in the build up and aftermath of the attack on the US Consulate in Benghazi. She refused them extra security before the attack, saying they were over-reacting, then came out pleading innocence and saying how it was so unforeseeable afterwards.

The second reason I despise the woman is her attempts to involve herself in the Falkland Islands issue. Se has said on numerous occasions that the UK should just hand them back. The phrase MIND YOUR OWN ****ING BUSINESS springs to mind. Pretty sure Cuba would like the land the US occupies on Guantanamo Bay back, you don't see Britain butting in and saying it should be given back. For a "diplomat" she has all the tact and class of a fresh steaming turd.

I don't put a lot of faith in the "special relationship" (I think it's far too one way) but I can't see Britain getting any favours from her as President. quite the opposite.

I just hope whoever wins tomorrow has a decent opponent in four years time............and gets booted out.

I agree, absolutely on that. The number of people who I heard discussing the EU referendum spouting off BS about why they were going to vote one way, or the other, was unreal. One guy said he was voting out cos the EU wanted an army and Britain was going to be forced to put all its soldiers in this army. I have no idea where he heard that crap from. The EU does want a defence force of sorts, you can call that an army if you want, but Britain had vetoed the idea a few times and has said it would continue to do so and wouldn't be a part of it. Yet yer man voted out cos he thought it was going to happen. I did point out to him what I just said above, but you could see the 'does not compute' flashing up behind his eyes. The same goes for general elections here, people votes based on incredibly uninformed opinions and not even half truths. There really should be an IQ test for voters. Anyone who is too dumb or uninformed to understand the issues of the day should given a crayon and a colouring book and left to amuse themselves.

I like Hillary Clinton. She's not a strong public debater but I think will try to do good things for those who need it most. I think she should be applauded if she manages to bring in some form on gun control. It's clearly needed and arguments against it are incredibly childish.

Ignoring the many perverse and derogatory occurrences of the past which should rule him out anyway, Trump appears to have the mentality of a child. US would be the laughing stock of the world. He appears to want to run the US like a business, that he professes to be an expert at, but it's clear that he can't and clear that he isn't.

Ehh you make it sound like the solution to gun crime ISN'T more guns!?
I agree that gun control would be a fantastic, and long long overdue, achievement for any President. However, I fear like security checks in airports, it is going to take something massive to make the American public see sense. Sorry, I don't mean to disparage all American's there, I know a lot want gun control but I think I am right in saying a majority don't, or at least are persuaded not to by the NRA etc.
The sad thing is Colombine, Sandyhook and the dozens upon dozens of other examples of mass shootings don't seem to be enough. There is going to have to be a few thousand killed in one go before the message gets through. That's sad.

Weasel for President!

Stevie Wonder has added a great comment to the days proceedings:

You wouldn't ask me to drive you, why would you ask Trump to lead you?

The quote seems to be phrased differently on a variety of media, but the sentiment made me smile
