Snaketibe said:The rather grandly named 'Jabba the Hutt Action Playset' this week, Lars? OK then!
This set may not quite meet the same definition of a 'playset' as the 'Cantina' or 'Land of the Jawas' (although it kicks the sorry ass of the piss-poor 'Cloud City' and 'Cantina Adventure Set'), but this is still a fun item with lots of play value, plus it was the only way to get your hands on the vile gangster that was Jabba himself, back in the 80's. Also, as an added bonus you got Salacious Crumb and a (massively) cut-down Rancor 'pit'![]()
It was a neat idea of Kenner's to combine Jabba's dais with the gates to the Rancor pit (even if it didn't really make a lick of sense when you stopped to think about it! :lol, and the result was a really fun toy that kids (and big kids ;-)) could enjoy.
Anyway, here's mine:

Thanks, Lars. Sorry, I should have made it clear that I was showing a set of Jabba instructions that I have, not that they were the ones which came with this particular set. Sadly this set came with no inner packaging or instructions when I bought it in the 90's, however I managed to buy a set of bi-logo instructions later, so I thought I would show them here since some people might still like to see themPomse2001 said:Beautiful set you have, what is going on with the bilogo instruction for the kenner set ? :?
I think the set is fantastic, ok it could be better, it was my only set when I was a kid and I played a lot with it, to me when I was a kid it was a ****ing cool set that saw many hours of playing. ok the rancor pit was wrong but for kids I think it was cool, as a kid I never saw it as a rancor pit, more like a little prison under jabba
Fantastic stuff! And I also see that the Rebo Band appears to be playing on top of a record player, which seems most appropriate! :-Dpaulcalf said:childhood action back in the day....
Photos have been posted previously....no its not a kitchen, it was my bedroom!

Great stuff, Lars! You have a fine collection of Jabbas, and it's great that you also have the inner packaging. I wish mine did, so at some stage I would like to upgrade mine to a better, more complete one.Pomse2001 said:20.jpg
