I think SWF will always have something about it, it is very relaxed and I think the people here over the years have all shown how down to earth they are and how happy they are to help and encourage others.
I originally signed up in 2004 on Rebelscum, I didn't find this place till 4 years later and I was a bit wary of it when I signed up, it wasn't as busy as it was now and everyone seemed to know each other - it was a bit like when you walk into that local pub for the first time and everyone turns their head but if you stay it soon feels like home.
The current "line up" of staff and members is very good round here too, a forum needs activity and passionate people to survive and be interesting so I applaud all the chatter boxes and contributors that have signed up in the last few years as you do make the forum a great place to be!
I suppose the other thing that makes it fun around here is that regardless of what is on show in the limelight section, there is never any feeling of someone showing off or having wads of cash at their disposal to throw around just for a bit of kudos, sometimes a very modest collection showcased by a modest person is the best limelight around IMO!

Spot on Joe about seeing other people's collections, big or small I love 'em all (steady on!). When I see some of the uber collections, there's no jealousy, just admiration for great achievements and great enthusiasm for all sorts of vintage SW goodies. Seeing startup collections grow and the variety of angles to approach collecting, all awesome.
Although I don't post too much, I check in here as often as I can and enjoy the spirit of support and comradeship every time. May I take the opportunity to say a big cheers to all here for making SWFUK a welcoming, helpful, supportive and most excellent place, cheers!

I'd visited RS a few times for reasons I forget now as I have no account. Some guy posted about an event in the UK for which he was blasted as there were 3 or 4 same places in the US and they were quite excited by it. Fortunately someone sent a link to here and he was basically told to stay here. I clicked the link and the rest is history :lol:
I visited RS a few times since but they're just way too serious and formal. And that's fine that's the way they want it. Don't go to TIG because the forum looks **** on the ipad. Both SWFUK and RS display properly but not TIG for some reason.
I get the feeling that if I started posting on RS it'd be like joining a D and D forum and everyone would ignore me for about 5 years until I proved my worth :lol:

Yeah I think I would have to agree, this place is a pretty cool hang out. Well done to edd, all the mods and all the collectors who frequent these boards. Oh and weasel!
