SWF Figure Focus Collectors Index

This has been done on a few forums, I thought SWF should have a similar set up!

The basic idea is this: Anyone with a figure focus can drop a link to their limelight in this thread and I can update the first post with a link to the collection and the collectors name.

So, to get the ball rolling I better start first!

It's up to you but certainly a link to Emiel's MIB collection would be fine by me. It could become quite the list depending on what people collect, but some categories besides character only could be fun.

No objections to adding non figure focus collections at all and I don't mind doing categories to separate them but would need to draw the line somewhere though!

I must admit I am a bit of a figure focus snob so forgive me if you felt left out Emi :mrgreen:

figures, ships and playsets...so pretty much everything...oh and of course I have to pay as little as possible for everything!

With the recent Ree Yees mania that was sweeping SWF I just thought it would be cool to have a list of who is focusing on which character as there are a lot of people getting into character collecting on here.

Again - I really don't mind making it a more expansive index thread if you guys want but where do we draw the line? Everyone here collects *something* but is everyone focus collecting?

Drawing the line is certainly the difficult point or else this will be the Limelight index which wouldn't be much different than just browsing the limelight section.

I'd consider MOCs for example as a category with a focus examples being

12 backs
65 backs
Trilogo

Maybe even Palitoy but probably one of the sub categories on that too where it is broad. However, the same argument could be made on MIB too, but Emiel's is the only one I know of like his. I'd say maybe MOCs if the collection has reached a certain point like Iain's, but then that could also come across as snobbish too in saying something like you can't get on the MOC focus list until you reach 50 or something.

I guess you'd need to determine what the definition of a focus is Joe. The term is a lot broader among collectors now compared to what it used to mean. Generally it always meant a character focus, but there are some other runs and things that I know I'd considered focused even if it isn't one character.

Han Hoth focus is mixed up in this lot, as are Die Cast TIEs and INT4 foci if you are going for non characters

Yeah I must admit, this might have been a bit of a snobby idea lol because I did actually just mean figure focus collections in the beginning.

There is an index of figures on RS like this too and it serves a good purpose as people can see what's out there and what people are doing with certain figures. Can also be a good way to get the word out if you are looking for stuff to buy - people see your name in the list and know who to contact if they find something cool.

As Shawn said, if the list contains everything going it risks just becoming a limelight index and kinda pointless.
