SW Book To Movie?

Following on from the news that Disney have taken over the rights to SW, Planning Ep. 7 Movie, etc etc Just wondering if a film is going to be made and you had a choice, would you reckon that any of the SW Books would make a good movie?. My vote would be for the 'Thrawn Trilogy', To me that would be the logical story to do. I would like to see that in fairness...... :?:

Or should it all be just left alone.............

I would love to see Thrawn getting real, but I doubt because it'sa grown-up story; no ewoks, no childish podrace etc.
there's little humour and fun in it, and so Disney's focus on 6-12 year olds won't do.
Or even worse: I fear they add some fun stuff to it.

The Thrawn books would be good but perhaps the Yuzzhuun Vong invasion?
Be good to get a bit Game of Thrones and see someone get hacked to pieces. Lando?

I always rated Shadows of the Empire as a good book/video game, so maybe that.

Shadows would make a great movie...hard to do with it happening between empire and jedi......lots of make-up work for the old actors.

Just reading there that Disney insiders have said it definitely won't be the 'Thrawn Trilogy'....even though its the logical choice set just after Jedi etc. Its going to be a totally new story, nothing from the expanded universe of Books, Comics or graphic novels. Odd though, as they also say they plan on doing an EP.8 & 9....

Shadow of the Empire would be a good movie aswell.....

With the clone wars raging the tv now, my bet is Dark Empire, ties in with the clone wars, and Disney doing all the CGI movies these days,
ep 789 will be all cgi....
This is my worst fears though.... Oh, and some spin off family movie of Leia and Solos kids running around with the ewoks....oh the horror.....

I agree Thrawn Trilogy, but have lucas not allready maid the manuscript for the next movies in the 70s ?

I too can see the sloppy family movie where Leia and Han give birth to Jacen or a CGI cackola film but hopefully they will surprise us? I would love to see the Luke Skywalker/ Mara Jade thing tho
