Hope you are all sitting comfortably! (Sorry this ones a long one!)

Back in 2009 an 8D8 trilogo MOC was up for sale on ebay.com, it was an AFA 80, I saw it and thought it was overpriced (around $200 if I remember rightly) but I noticed on the back it had a very interesting sticker, it was an Italian Import sticker which are quite rare to find and it was the only one I had ever seen on an 8D8 Tri, I wanted it but not at that price so I mulled it over for a while kept checking to see if it had sold etc, one day the listing ended and it never got re-listed.

I then contacted the original seller to ask what happened and if they still had it would they consider an offer lower than the BIN, they said it sold in private and couldn't help further-needless to say I regretted not buying it (just too used to getting a good deal and not overpaying for things I really want!)

Fast forward a bit to 2010 and I still hadn't seen it resurface or another like it, I put out a WTB in the AFA section and the classifieds on RS in the hope someone stateside had it. No joy and no info..

I had pretty much given up hope of finding it really and stopped thinking about it, just knew it was out there and I hoped one day it would turn up.

Then...this month I was talking to Nick (silvergrin) about him wanting an 8D8 Tri and he mentioned there was an overpriced one on ebay, I had seen it as well and as it was AFA graded I never bothered to look at it as the price was a bit of a joke!

The very next day I saw it get re-listed a little cheaper than it was before and for some reason I clicked the listing to check it out....I looked at the picture and I saw from the front (it had no back picture) what appeared to be a tiny edge of a sticker coming from round the back to the front...Immediately looked at the serial number and checked my old saved pictures to see if it was what I thought it was - IT WAS ! ! ****ING ****!

Now I had a new problem! It was still too expensive and the seller wouldn't ship to me! Who to turn to for help??

Enter our very own DarthStanley (Mark) to the rescue! Not only was he happy to grab the figure and send it on to me but he also talked the guy down an extra 15 quid ! lol!

Today I received the elusive figure which really only means something to me (my goal with trilogos was to get one from each country they were sold in) and I am more than happy with it and of course thankful for Marks help!

Here he is :

Mark was also the quick thinking friend that snagged me an IG-88 trilogo for 40 quid so I really owe the guy who I am sure most of you know is one of the nicest people that we have on the forums, willing to help anyone at any time!

:D

As for the story Joe, I love it. Im really glad you have finally got hold of it. It is irritating as hell missing out on something you really want even if it does go over budget. Its great that it came around again and you snagged it. A fantastic addition to your focus mate! Top drawer. :D
