Star Wars T Shirt Designs

Yeah that's very expensive. There's no money to be made at that cost. Try these guys. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Fifth-Column-T-Shirts/115608371801710

And it's always worth trying just 1 or 2 colours per tee. My quote for 50 1 colour tees was under 250. 2 colours can't be that much more.

Thanks man - have requested a quote from them - and some refinements from firethingy...

Dude, sorry the FireLabel link didn't help, your Ackbar is a four colour screen (white, brown, yellow, black). I got a £6.40 an item price from them for 50 units (Vat, P&P inc) for a 4 colour silkscreen print late last year. Once the screens are made future runs are well under £5 for 50 units (cheaper for bigger orders). Maybe prices have gone up since my enquiry?

Which ever way you go good luck (BTW I don't work for FireLabel :D ) and can I put in an order for an Ackbar T-shirt now?

Unfortunately that is the going rate for a 4 colour print job for that amount of shirts once you factor in the screen set up costs and ink changes. Once you go above 2 colours the pricing changes completely, If you are going for the full colour job though there is no cheap way around it unfortunately.

Some guys I use occasionally for screen printed stickers are doing a deal of £195 for 50 1 colour shirts at the moment. Speak to them and see what they can suggest.

Just a thought but why not go for a Stomtrooper design in that style, you could easily then produce one colour design 50 shirt run for under £200 or maybe a lot less if you enquire about a 25 shirt run.

Thanks again chaps

I had an email this morning saying that TheYetee.com is going to print A Good Blaster - it'll be up for 48 hours in August some time. It's also going to be printed in glow in the dark ink!?

I'm really tempted to simplify a design or two (or go with the stormtrooper and death star ideas) and get a limited print run made up - I don't think I'll ever retire on tshirt design, but the extra cash could be incredibly helpful. That awesomedesign place looks a good bet...

WOW! These are fantastic! Ackbar and Wicket are my absolute favs!

I was just alerted to this thread and had to chime in my support! Good luck! These are great!

**EDIT**

By the way a friend of mine just got a gig as a screen printer. He might be able to help too. Unfortunately he's in the states, but he might have a tip or two. Let me know and I can put you in touch.

Thanks :)

At the moment the most likely sites for picking up my designs are TeeBusters and Qwertee. Although Qwertee rejected Ackbar.

TheYetee are going to run A Good Blaster in August some time...

And until I can work out a way of printing myself and selling them on my site or eBay - all my designs go on my RedBubble store (I get a tiny cut from the sale of each shirt/sticker/hoody etc).

I'm currently working on trying to simplify some of the designs - get them down to one colour - so I can look at the possibility of a limited print run. But we'll see how that goes...

I would just like to say - thanks to you all for your support and advice with this. I really appreciate the welcome :)

D

Hi guys,

It's been a while since I returned to this thread - but here I am...

I'm on a bit of a promotion push (sorry) - I've got one design going to print in October some time (which will be super cool) - but in the meantime my other designs at other sites are on a vote plateau.

Would it be cool to pop the links here (or somewhere) for voting again? And do folk fancy sharing the links on any other SW forums/Twitter/FB etc?

If not - thats cool :)

Cheers

Out Of interest what are the copy right laws regarding the use of Star Wars Charcters and quotes?

It's one of those things - you can usually get away with things if there is a parody element. I've been burned by Lucasfilm before - they asked a site to take them down. You'd like to think that Disney would see the designs as fanart - I'm not going to retire on the sales of the shirts. I just enjoy making them and the fact that some other folk seemed to dig them.
