Star Wars Plastic galaxy documentary out jan 14th!

I figure it would cost me $8.00 to ship this in a jiffy bag to the UK. If it were in a cardboard padded sleeve maybe a little less. If this is coming from a distribution house...they get a price break on bulk postage...so all in maybe $5.00. If he is doing this on a small scale you have to understand it is taking up his time and time is money in a small business....so $12.00 to get it to you safe and in one piece may seem excessive, but I do not think he is trying to pull a fast one. If it comes in a clamshell case it would be more of course.

The postage is a lot but it is important to support this. As someone said further up, people have put a lot of work into making this for collectors. Copying the disc isn't really fair on those who put the effort in. It's not even like this is some huge Hollywood blockbuster. They won't be making millions from it 8)

That's just going to encourage people to copy them and then distribute :(

Sorry, i'm not following you.
Excessive shipping costs. It's not really helping to encourage people to buy the disc and support the guys in this digital age.

Right. I thought you were suggesting i was somehow encouraging it. :?

I still think what i suggested is a good idea. If anyone in the UK wants in then PM me and we'll do this. I won't be buying one otherwise as the shipping is too much.

Hopefully you'll get some sent postal messages soon. I think Brian was focusing on U.S. orders first and the Kickstarter supporters. I finally got my copy yesterday and it is the SW documentary I've been wanting for a long time. It's well worth the price and wait. I never did get a confirmation that mine had shipped though, so maybe some of them are even on their way already.

Been two weeks now, would have hoped some people would have received theres so I knew mine was on the way. Sucks, I really can't wait to watch it.

I read a post over on that other site that he was doing US Orders and Kickstarter Orders 1st, then Overseas as it more work. As far as getting confirmation, I didn't get mine until I received it   Still haven't gotten to watch it, but will try this weekend. Anyway guys don't worry you will get it soon enough.

If you guys have any questions, the guy is a member on RS user name: doc_atomic.

Guys

Just an FYI on shipping. I'm signed up for USPS discounts so I get the standard rate savings. A 5 oz. package to the UK. France, Etc.. is $11.48 for the lowest cost postage. A 2-4 oz. is $8.88 for the same service. The DVD is in a standard case so it's over 3 oz alone. If he uses a mailer and then just wraps it once in bubble wrap he's over 4 and then you have to round up.

So if anyone thinks there's any money in shipping (forgetting his time and such) it's not true.

BTW - For international stuff the snow right around his mailing probably didn't help. They pile up the stuff that needs to go out and the stuff in first, goes last since it's bottom of the pile. That's been my experience.

Anyways, enjoy it when you get it!!!! Brian did a great job all around!

Its arrived!! :D
