Star Wars or football.

I agree. It is sad that a top four finish is now more desirable and beneficial to a club's well being than winning the FAC or Worthless Cup. Personally, I tend to take a long term view of things, and long term, what's best for my club is a top four finish and CL footy. I do wish there was some way we could get the mystique of the cups back but I think those days are gone now. At least until the billionaires get bored of their latest play thing and move on, and that doesn't look like happening any time soon.

You never no all good things come to an end. What I don't understand is if it's all about money, which it is no question. Why don't they maximise the FA Cup's potential. Up until the 5th round their are no premier league fixtures, so for each round the FA Cup has the weekends only major football fixtures and even after that their is at least 2 major clubs involved that draw huge viewing figures globally. But the FA Cup is dead? Ridiculous.

Bloody hell it's a miracle.

Should continue this in Premier league discussion thread, I'm rubbish at explaining things, or it may just be a crap point.

I've read that 3 times and still don't understand it!
I thought it was me!

Basically what I'm trying to say is entire weekends of the football calendar are dedicated to the FA Cup, but the big sides rest players which is one of the reasons the competition is loosing its prestige. Surely something can be done to revamp the competion, English football has a huge global audience, their must be loads of potential in TV money. It's almost like an international break at the moment, know one is bothered.

I don't know surely if they said the winner gets £50 million or something like that?

Does that make any sense??

Yes, that makes perfect sense...now  8)

with you now, though £50 million is peanuts for most "big" clubs now. It's a dam sight less than they make from getting in to the CL, with the additional advertising and sponsorship that brings. I don't know what the FA can do really.
