Just read in the news that Lucas is planning to do all 6 Star Wars films in 3D. It was only a matter of time I suppose.

Shame he's starting with Phantom Menace in 2012 and will probably have to wait another yaer or so after that for Star Wars and ESB but personally I'm quite looking forward to seeing them in 3D.

Just wondered what you guys thought. :?:

He's doing them the wrong way round. If he does jar jar first to gauge demand he may not even make it to a new hope!

Jason

If he wants to up audience numbers he should digitally remove binks from the first 3 films, and put in angeline jolie in a topless slave leia costume.

I think this cash cow is starting to run a little dry... I for one won't be watching this or buying the DVD and the one after that with the added extras and the one after that and so on.

Didnt he origionally write more than six episodes,, i read somewhere (god knows where??) that he had basic plots and developed characters for at least three more ??? post jedi if i recall??

hmmmmm

yeah remove jar jar from the first ones and put in any thing else.

Making the prequels into 3D??!... it's gonna be like paying someone to fling **** into your eyes.

Read about this the other day and I groaned as well.
He's just trying to make MORE money, does he really need more millions to lie in the bank!?
If he was that keen for money maybe doing a decent job on the first 3 films would have been a better idea, rather than bastardizing the entire franchise!

I am going to take the kids to see it :) Crap or not, I don't give a ****. THEY will still love it.

maybe he not doing it for the money ,may just think it will look mint though sure i heard you cant make a normal film into 3-d and do a good job ,it has to be shot in 3d for the effects like avatar.
Also i am prob the only person on here who doesnt own copies of the films .i have done but now i am waiting for all 6 in a blue ray boxed set.though by then another type of player will prob be out

.oh and i will go to watch them

I have to agree with a lot of you guys, my first reaction wasn't really positive. However, I have two
nephews which are budding SW fans (not my doing ;) ), and they are getting into things via a steady
diet of the "Clone Wars" and anything cool Uncle Bill sends their way.
They are both in the same ballpark, age-wise as I was when "ANH" came out, so I'm really looking forward
to sharing this experience with them. I think if anyone has the technical skill to pull off a 3D remake of any
movie, it's GL and ILM. (tho', I *am* praying to see the digital death scene of Jar Jar get inserted in there
somewhere)

Now THAT would make Lucas a new fortune (no matter how badly he did it)!

yeah, he planned 9 episodes...incredibly i read this vwaaaaaaaaay back when i was a kid at the height of "star wars fever"!!!

I would go and see the original trilogy but not the newer films.
Having said that I do think that even the restored footage on the DVDs looks too clear (anyone else notice the crews fingerprints on darthvaders helmet?).
I think these films should of been left in all of their original grainy VHS quality. Because the clearer they make the films the more pisspoor it makes the effects look.

I think i am about to get shafted for what i am about to say:

I loved The Phantom Menace!

Yeah J.J Binks was a bit of a setback, but Darth Maul has always been my favourite Sith! Watto has also been my favourite "Collaborator" and Qui-Gon-Jin my favourite Jedi... oh along with Yoda of course.

But then again i am a home cinema whore. I gotta have 5.1 surround sound with a crisp HD picture on a 40" Screen with the subs blasting out THIS IS SPARTA every so often
