Hey bit random but have any of you ever bought anything from an Auction? There is a big Star wars one near me? but sometimes stuff goes pretty cheap and dont know if can be trusted??

Star Wars toys sell at auctions all the time. I have seen a few but never bought through one.
I'm sure it could be trusted as much as any sale. Fakes are sold everywhere. You just have to know what you're buying. Never take a seller's word for anything. Ask collectors on here if you have any issues with something you are looking to buy.

hey thanks for the reply. They have some carded figures i want... think it look pretty reputable :S

Yeah they seem fine to me. Each auction is describing any damage well enough. Many of them appear to be opened but there are 1 or 2 really nice bits there.
If you want to protect auctions you're planning on bidding on i'd remove that link.

Been checking these auctions for a while, especially after the one early this year where £18,000 worth of Palitoy MOCs were sold. All were minty minty I believe. So ever since then been checking them out.

Well worth a look, alot of mature peeps will take these to an auction rather than ebay I suppose. Also worthwhile checking out auctions in the states such as P.Weiss auctions as there has been a lot of estate sales this year with truly superb "In the Attic" MOCs and MISB.

A recent discovery is over at RS where Missthe80s was able to buy up a nice lot of MISB items from a Florida estate sale, the AT-AT looks superb.

So yes vv worthwhile checking out.

yeah they have put loads more on now, think i may have to go down, and get really confused with bidding...

I have never bid on a proper auction where I was there in the flesh, I guess if you had a bit of spare cash and had the chance it would be fun.

Does anyone know this website/auction house? Cause I just wanted to register and it seems it is mandatory to store your COMPLETE credit card information, incl. security number there. Would like to know how you feel about it first before I enter my data ...

Hey bit random.......

Hmmmm, bit random indeed.

It is a reputable toy auction house, so why doubt the legitimacy of the items?
As for the four lots of links its obvious they are your/ a friends items.
I was going to stick in some bids but balls now

As for ANYTHING that is published on the saleroom.com you can forget getting any about bargains. Pretty much every independent auction house that sells star wars attracts a HUGE amount of interest. I have got my hopes up on several different sales all over the country and had no joy whatsoever. If anything its the auctions with the poorest advertising are the ones that achieve the best prices.
There are dozens of toy dealers travelling the auction houses of the UK looking for Dinky/Corgi/Star Wars etc.
The worst are the dealers who just bid on items to spite you- there is a guy who does the circuit round this neck of the woods and he will bid up people he doesnt like the look of for fun!

Good luck on anyone who bids though, its worth a try.

I'm with Ed on this. These auctions NEVER go cheap. A few i have watched in the past go WAY over market value. Bare in mind, these links have probably been posted on dozens of forums now by the above member.
ebay is a much better place to find bargains. Plus i don't like being duped into bidding on someone's items. I'd rather go without.

I have seen some very juicy lots but like you said Pete, they sell for juicy prices.

The one that sticks in my memeroy is a box of c250 figures. It came with a carrier bag FULL of weapons..... There were only two last 17 figures- Amanaman x 2. The rest were mainly Jedi figure that had been played with.

It sold for over £400 plus charges (about another 20%)
The bastards estimated it at £30-50 (and I travelled hundreds of miles convinced I would get a steal)
