I just noticed that "Collectaholics" is on tonight - BBC2 8.00pm. "James's lifelong obsession with Star Wars means that his three children have to climb over heaps of his memorabilia just to get into bed." Could be interesting.

Craig.

Seen a trailer for this - always good to see some vintage on TV (although this fella has a lot of modern tat as well).

So what? Let him enjoy his hobby. It's not a vintage Star Wars collecting show.

Good on you James. I'd better see that badge I have you at CE2 somewhere.

Here here

Modern or otherwise surely its a good thing to see SW in the spotlight

Just watched the trailer too. Looks like it could be a fun episode. People are certainly entitled to collect what they want, but I think once it impedes on the living space of family members, it is a bit of a problem. Some of that though could be played up on the show.

James is a really top bloke, and has been a great ambassador for Star Wars in the UK as a whole. I'm really looking forward to finally seeing his collection, especially the Lego!

I believe he's in San Francisco at the moment so he can't watch tonights episode but I'm pretty sure he'll be getting a few messages once it's finished! :D

Virtually all modern but by the end I was starting to like the collection 8) That room looked amazing!

Thought the valuation for the Lego clone trooper was a bit OTT. At the end of the day even though only five were made it's still modern. Are there any collectors out there who would spend a grand on a Lego clone trooper?

35,000 pieces. I know lots of it May not be worth much but even if you said each piece was worth 1.50 each that's over 45k . I think James has made a good decision there by streamlining. Heust enjoy looling at that setup a million times more than all those boxes. Also infinitely better for his family.

A nice collection of boxes , untill the bbc vamped up with display cases and wall mounted

What a collection but it was way out of control

Reckon it will lead to more one post wonders selling their wrapping paper claiming it to be the only one in existence and is worth BIG money

Did enjoy the show but there wasn't much vintage about :(

I also did the 35k x £1.50 maths

However, I think if he really added up them up he'd have paid a lot more than the quoted £20k-£25k. For the maths to work he'd have had to be buying stuff for about 75p each and he had cartons of figures, big lego sets, lightsabers etc. I'm not sure we're you get those for 75p  I mean, you can't even get a single lego mini figure for that.

I'm saying he's spent way more than he said.

Glad he got his house sorted though. My wife would have killed me off by now of I'd done that, and the final display looked very nice.

My house has looked pretty similar at some points and it can get on top of you. Not sure about the initial spend for that collection - especially if purchased from new. It was a shame that the vintage wasn't represented at all but the revised display still looked very good
