Just trying to find more about them Joe.
Seems to have a lot of people on rebel scum
To help me get a better knowledge of what I have got.

Yep I don't blame you really but if you were scared off by too many PM's last time then you really are asking for it now ;)

Advice: Don't sell to anyone called John Walsh

Irish 3 packs,,, man nothing about them for ages and then two show up..

Hey Allen ,, can i just ask one question do you knoe if your gran bought these in the UK,
I know it sounds obvious but i am trying to find out where they were made here in ireland and how far they went.

cheers
steve.

ps i have no interest in buying them but the above advice from joe is very sensible and spot on.

She lived in Nelson, Lancashire so I think she would have bought them around there. But she does have a daughter in Ireland that she went to visit every so often so she could have bought them there but its more than likely they were bought in Nelson.

Cool thanks for that Allen.
Its really cool to have found something rare and unusual its even cooler to find a haul of rare stuff.

Normally its stuff that is either wrecked or ok and the seller thinks they will retire on it.
Your haul is significant,,but as joe said a nice holidays worth,, no retirement.

thanks again for the info.

Right I'm going to be selling the two woolworths baggies and also the three Irish 3 packs.
You might have already sent me a message about them but can anyone interested in any of these please send me a message of which item them want to buy.

Just so I know who's interested in what item.

Thanks!

so much for selling on the forum huh? :p

Hmmm - think everyone expected this

I would suggest that it might not have been the wisest move to list at those prices as they are at the top end of the estimates given. I guess with the exposure on here and on RS then people may be tempted.

They simply aren't worth the prices they have been listed at so they won't sell but in my opinion the move to go to ebay was not about selling them at those silly prices, it was more about advertising them further..

I think it's unfair of Allan to say he wants to sell them to people on here yet list them on ebay the same day, even at those incredibly high prices. It means that while people here are trying to express interest Allan is getting even more offers from ebay buyers for his items behind the scenes.

Allan- you sent me a PM the other day and said you didn't want to go with my idea of a low start auction with a high reserve as you didn't want to upset people on here by moving the items to ebay? And now here we are watching you list them with high starts and no reserves?

I am not sorry that we got to hear about and see these items but I do find it upsetting that yet again Allan has proved that when we take our time to offer information to sellers who come here with their items and express interest for what they are selling they still run around looking elsewhere for buyers.

It's a complete waste of time for all involved.

Allan, as a moderator here I would like to ask you to explain your actions in public and also tell everyone what exactly your plan is regarding these figures, from now on if you want to use this forum to sell them - you need to be putting all your cards on the table and updating this thread (or a sales thread) regularly with information. So..are you just stringing people along here while you parade your items around as much as possible looking for that elusive highest bidder? Or the collector with the deepest wallet? Or are you interested in getting these items to collectors on this site? (where you obtained 90% of the information about them)

I don't honestly begrudge you wanting the maximum return but you keep saying you have all the time in the world to sell these yet you are parading these around in 3 different places at the same time now and its getting silly. Either these are for sale here or they aren't.

Well said Joe.

I think it's a little unfair to get us lot to do the legwork and then bugger off and sell them elsewhere.

I made a sound offer for one of the three packs. Allen was going to consider the offer, and I requested first refusal on the set in question. The reply implied he was in no hurry to sell them.

Then I see them on eBay :(

Allen please don't dangle the carrot in front of us then leave us hanging.

I have to agree. He's been on here, got all the info on these, had a couple of sound offers and then decides on ebay! WTF
I dont know about his items, but the prices seem way over the top. I dont think they'll sell, then he'll probably be back with his tail between his legs!
Maybe its me being cynical, but he could have known exactly what he had and their value, and just been on here and RS to drum up interest! And hadn't one of the multipacks been opened on page 2 of the thread, or are they from something else?

Well it isn't the first time and it won't be the last!

Thing is, IF they did sell for those prices would he be out of pocket if he sold them on here?! Probably  Ebay will take their 10% and then if it's through paypal they also take what... 2.5-5%?

I do think you are right though Joe... this will purely be for advertising and it won't have cost him anything due to the free listing weekend we've just had, but talk about the amount of credibility he's lost on here/various other forums he's posted them on.

It's a shame really, as these are brilliant pieces and it would have been great to have known that someone on here was to get one
