Really interesting. Strangely most of the boxed ships don't really seem to have changed that much - unless they are sealed?

I can remember calling toytoni after seeing one of his adds in model mart late 90s and having a very long conversation over the phone about him trying to get hold of an amanaman staff for me and how it was'nt really worth his while

2nd from the bottom is selling a Palitoy Early Bird Certificate for £150. That's a new one on me... who knew Palitoy sold Early Bird stuff. :D

Some of that seems really expensive for the time. Would love to know how much the vcj was.

Great to see these ads. I was actively collecting between 1994 and 1996 and remember some of these! I used to love the thrill of the new issue of M&CM being released and scouring the adverts for stuff. It made the bus ride home from Uni pass a lot quicker :)

In those days the last 17 POTF MOCs seemed to be grail items, and things like the Sears Cloud City playset and Imperial Shuttle were priced astronomically and things you'd heard about but never seen (well - things I only heard about and never seen anyway!)

Great thread! Thanks for the scans

I used to get modellers and collectors mart pretty regulary unfortunately I threw out all mags and only have a year 2000 (can upload scans of that if people are interested)

Takes me back to those days when buying vintage star wars.It was a lot different buying exoerience to what it is today.

Remember ringing dealers and asking if they take switch card if not then it was the old fashion cheque(no rubber ones)Having to wait for the cheque to clear was agonizing then you wasn't certain if the item was in the condition the seller said. There was a lot of trust involved back then between the two parties. There wasn't any pics to help you only a mans word.

Yes I did order from toy toni back in those days he was pretty decent with his service and had a good selection of items.Shame it all went pear shape

3rd advert down. Trilogo boxed X-Wing for £45???

To be fair, a lot of those prices haven't kept up with inflation. And then quite a few have left even house prices for dead! Really great to see, thanks for taking the time :)
