Hi,

As i might told some before i am thinking about selling most off my loose figure collection reducing it by 80%. The problem i have is deciding what to sell and what to keep. I was thinking to shift my collecting focus to some main characters and start adding some cardboard (i like the look off a Star Wars carded set with 12/20 and 21 backs).

I know some figures i want to keep for sure, but other HTF ones i might have to sell in order to raise some funds for some Moc's.... I know i have some desired loose figures like the Burgundy caped Bib, red cape squid, LL Jawa, VC regular and VC Toltoys Jawa, DT luke, Blue snags, dark brown rebel soldier, YPS snowtrooper, glasslite, top toys, PBP and takara figures I also have many variantions and don't know what to do, start selling those foreign figures or the regular figures + variants and keep the hard to find ones.... I just don't know. :? :(

What would you do :?:

Thx, Dennis.

Hi Dennis,

I might not be objective as I may be interested in some of them. So...go with your heart. Keep the figures you love the most and flog the rest.

Always hard parting with a collection you have bulit up over a period of time but yeah just go for it and get some other stuff.
That's what I'm doin at the mo ,flogging off most of my Kenner MOC's which I've collected over the last 5 years to buy a few Palitoy MOC's,and now owing Smith a fortune in the process. :)

well it certainly is a good problem to have and figure out

you will have plenty of buyers, so no rush to make your mind up

i think youll find most people wont be objective (including me  ) as some of the figs youve mentioned are very desirable!

having said that if i was you id keep the luke dt and the jawas...especially the ozzy jawa.

if you do decide to sell'm they'll go like hot cakes!!!!!

end of the day its up to you mate :)

Dennis, the figures you mention there mate are worth next to nothing.

Best thing to do is is sell them to me as a bulk buy to shift them and
then start your focus of cardboard :D

Mate, go with your heart. You know some of them figures are a lot more important to you than the others like the Jawa's.

It's hard to shift focus like you are doing, especially in such a big way.

Good luck mate

Stu

Keep those last few you mentioned and sell them as needed, i was gutted when i let my LL jawa go and i spent ages trying to find a mint one again.

if you do move the rare figures...baggsy the Burgundy Bib :)

I would keep one set of loose figures with the variant you like the most for each figure and sell the rest.

E.g. dt Luke for Luke Farmboy and sell the orange hair  or the LL burgundary Bib as 'Bib Fortuna'.

Probably I'd keep the production 'variant' figures like one vinyl cape Jawa and one cloth cape Jawa in the remaining set.

Just my thoughts...

Uli

Ok, I guess I'm as close to impartial on this as it's possible to be, I have no real interest in loose figures and well you all know I love my variants!

Why not sell the collection off in sections Dennis? Start with the figures you know you want rid of, the ones that are reasonably easy to find in decent nick, and then once you have them sold if you still think you want to downsize pick the next few you are happy enough to get rid of and or least fond of and work from there.
By the looks of it you have a good few items that will sell in no time so you won't be short of buyers.
Just make sure, whatever decision you make, your happy with it. Nothing worse than regretting selling something two weeks later!

Very difficult call mate.
The ideal thing would be to keep the rare figures that are hard to come by in a mini collection, but of course they are the ones that will raise the most capital in being sold...
I'd keep your favourites & sell the others until you get the cash together that you need. You may not need to sell many of your treasured figures.

btw...i'd be interested in any of the rare ones, specially the ozzy vc, burg bib, ll jawa etc!

Thx for your input guys, Like some off you guys say keep the HTF ones and flogg the rest is a good idea, but on the other hand like tank says these are the ones that will raise the cash....

I've been struggling with this idea for some time now and i will try to keep the things i love most, so the Jawa's are staying home.

Check the for sale section soon..... :p

What a shame... I hope you'll get good money for all your figures...

Uli you have lost a variation brother! BUT could gain some figures...hmm

No seriously, Dennis, go with your heart, sometimes you regret things and yes those figures are rare, but you found them once, if need be you can find them again.

I hope whatever collecting direction you take now brings you a bit more pleasure !
