Grand Master
There are three things that have stuck with me throughout my life. Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings and Guns n' Roses. I'd loved many things but those three have always been there through thick and thin.
SW was something I did when I was dragged to an Aunt's house. Go to spare room and watch tapes. Played with figures when I got home and entertained myself for hours. Years later I bought Heir to the Empire novel and since the birth of the Internet it has been a daily thing
LOTR - I remember when I first read it and told all my mates. I was about 11. Nobody would touch it - old book, too long etc. Some read The Hobit, which I enjoyed too but it didn't come close. Still read it at least once a year and love the movies. Have most of the History of ME books and it helped me into other fantasy series like Game of Thrones and Shanarra.
GN'R - it was just boom. In your face take that the 5 coolest guys on the planet. For 8 years or so it was constant GNR which got me into other rock, although Def Leppard and Bon Jovi came before.
All 3 have stayed with me and I get nostalgic about the lot.
