snowspeeder string

Does anyone know if the snowspeeder harpoon string is always black, or were some white? Is there any difference between the palitoy and kenner stings?

Also, is the string the same as that used for the Jabba playset?

I've got two types and I wondered if one had been replaced :?

I've just had a look at some old pictures of three Snowspeeders that I've sold in the past. The parts bags were all sealed and the Kenner ESB one had a black waxy string the same as the Jabba playset whereas the two Palitoy (ROTJ) versions I owned had a white string about the same diameter as the black version.

I've got the ESB and ROTJ Palitoy Snowspeeders. White string on both I think...

my string has been replaced with cotton

now i have to find the right strings!

i have 2 speeders - they are molded slightly different - one says cincinatti the other canada

either of these likely to be Palitoy ones?

i can photo the mold details if need be....

The Palitoy white string is very thin..

I've got a Pal and a Kenner speeder so I'll check the differences for you

My Kenner and Palitoy Speeders both have their original white string and Jabbas throne string is black :wink:

I've seen a lot of kenner speeders with the thick black string since I posted this thread, any chance your kenner one has a palitoy block?

At least some of the Kenners (if not all) had a similar black string as in the Jabba set. I know as I've had a few unused snowspeeders with heat sealed parts bags.

I wonder if over time the black string loses its waxyness and becomes thicker :?: I think the white Palitoy string can do a similar thing.

nope - both come from a loft raid in sunny bristol!

top is Canadian botton Cincinnati
