Hi guys, I'm quite new on here, been watching and reading rather than posting for a while now so I'm taking the plunge at last! I've collected loose figures for ages but am now moving into carded figures with some kind of focus yet to be decided. I'm also pondering on whether to go AFA (most likely) or not AFA and this is where my query comes from. Do I get the 21 back Snaggletooth graded or not?

It's in good condition, the flash on the scans has over-highlighted the issues with the card and it looks great when displayed. There is a dot of residue (not really sure what and don't want to mess with it too much) just to the right of the bubble (which is very nice).

So the dilemma is do I spend the extra cash getting it graded, or is the card not really worth it. The gun is loose, and although the bubble looks odd at the bottom it's perfectly attached. A valuation on ungraded and then graded would be very helpful to me.

Thanks from a newbie!

Hi Welcome to the Forum! :)

Thats a nice piece there! Due the creasing/bubble damage I personally would not grade this but look forward to hear the other guys views on this :)

Definately DONT get that graded, it will massively make the moc look poor as that card damage will get it a 60 for sure.

Its a nice piece, it will look a lot better in an acrylic case ungraded. Grading it will take your attention away from what is a nice moc.

I think the big question you need to ask is why you want it graded.

If it is to sell then I wouldn't bother - as has been said above, the creases would affect the grade it receives and I actually think that low graded AFA items are harder to sell

If you want to keep it then I guess it is down to you. You can buy some cracking acrylic cases these days and do you really need someone to tell you how good it is ?

Hi. As the others say. When they do the grading, even if the bubble and figure are pretty good, if the cards in average condition, it really lowers the grade. Generally, a lower graded item isn't worth much more than an ungraded item.
It's still a nice piece. Get an acrylic case to keep it in. It looks good and will help preserve it. :D

Thanks everyone, your comments are very helpful.

I think that the card displays better than the pictures indicate so it can stay ungraded for now 8)

I hadn't considered a really good case for it - that's a nice idea.
