God i didnt notice that! Good spot!!
It hurt at the time! I was opening up a 12 back jawa and had a very severe bubble cut
I had an accident in my workshop just over two years ago- using a spindle moulder. Five mins to go until knocking off and a chap walked in wanting some oak architraves machined. I obliged and..... Fingers removed
I was pretty lucky as it was mm away from losing my thumb. There was also a very deep laceration across my palm too- I almost lost my entire hand- that would have made life really tricky!
I had about six weeks off work, then slowly returned. It took months and months to actually do any Joinery. Tbh i was mentally ****ed for the first six months- the physical side repaired really quickly- bandages off and all healed up in three months. I was very wary of people looking at it. For ****ing ages I was "the lad who cut his fingers off" living in a small town everyone knew. The worst thing was when people would look out of the corner of their eyes then immediately look away when I noticed.
Hannah was amazing throughout- when I had the accident Hannah was just starting her dissertation- she dropped it for two months and nursed me, she is an angel and I am so lucky to have her. She also tolerates the whole sw thing....
Now it has fully desensitised and I can do everything I could before hand. Oh and I had a small payout from a personal accident plan I had taken out two months prior- that was blown on a nice car and a load of mocs from Chris
My top tip- be ****ing careful if you use a spindle!!!
