As people seem incapable of keeping TFA posts to off topic or the existing threads, shall I create a new sub forum for it? Especially as somebody has raised the issue of 'spoilers', so people not wanting to know anything about the new films can just ignore that forum.

What do you think?

I'm in favour of the sub-forum, it'll keep things nice an tidy and as time goes on, with more films being released, there'll be loads more threads.

I think it's a good idea, I know this forum is primarily Vintage but we do have sub forums for non vintage stuff.

There are some on here who have zero interest in the new film/s and that's fine but it appears the majority are interested in some way in them so this way it'll attract those that want to talk about it and those that don't can avoid it.

So long as they're kept out of the 'vintage' section I don't really mind where they go - but having a 'New movies' section specifically for them makes it clearer for all.

Sure, we should - I mean were all huge Star Wars fans and I believe the majority of forum members would like to talk about it because it's a big event for us all...

Yes please! I'd love to chat about my thoughts on the films and what I've seen - but only once I've seen them. Keeping them off the vintage section would be a great help.

I agree, but why not have a sub forum for all movies in general! Otherwise we could be having the same poll for Rogue 1, episode VIII etc

Yes that's the idea, a forum for new Star Wars films, not just TFA.

Good idea edd. It will minimise the chance of spoilers and there's a load of threads you can shift in it to start with.

I think you should make Ian and lee admins for the new sub forum. They would enjoy that.

Yep great idea - shame that people didn't listen to the Boss in the first place - you made it pretty clear on more than one occasion.
We're all really excited about the new films so will want to discuss but one of the many benefits of a forum is the structure so people can view/post in sections they enjoy - once people start posting everything in the vintage section because it gets the most traffic it gets a bit like face book.

Yes, great idea. Was hoping this would be suggested. A place we can talk about the New movies, the Original Trilogy, the Prequels, T.V shows and maybe even Star Wars Videogames.

There's a certain forum member who claims to have no interest in THE FORCE AWAKENS who keeps starting threads about it... this master of subterfuge whose 3 letter name starts with L and ends with E is playing a clever game, and forcing the hand of the mods to start a new forum! It's sabotage plain and simple! :D

As for his accomplice - let's him call him "Mr.C". He also 'doesn't plan' to watch the movie and yet he's made more posts in the TFA trailer than anyone else... there's something fishy going on here!

Yeah it gets my vote Edd.. and I would go as far as to ban TFA chat in the vintage collecting chat section. As mentioned it will mean it's all there in one place and if you don't want to see it, don't look at it. Just my opinion :!:

Yeah i think its a great idea, with all the new movies coming it'll be good to have a place where those of us that are interested can go, i understand there are those that don't care for the new stuff, fair play to them, and that way with a new subforum they don't have to see it

Guilty as charged :D

Joking aside, as i said the other day-life is too short to bitch and worry about movies, get angry over toys and tarnish ones feelings. I myself have come to realise this, its a fecking movie and its here to stay. I think too many of us ( well 3 i can count) worry to much on the new movie ruining our perception and memories. One things sure to me, and that is that nothing can take away whats in my heart and mind.

Something else made me think today. I saw all 3 OT movies back in the day with my mum and brother. I can remember walking out of ROTJ with my brother not realising that this is the one time my brother stands out as who he was, especially after seeing him today. We rarely speak now as he is an alcoholic and heavy drug user (dope and coke) and i saw him today as i had to pop into the doctors to get a prescription. He is frail, stinks of booze, and shakes because he needs a drink. I have tried helping him numerous times in the past, given him money, booked him counselling-everything, but it does no good. Ive even gone to the hospital with him to try to get help even with our parents. I left him today asking if he needed a lift but he just said he wanted to get some money and go to the pub, he was jumping around like a kid. I gave him a cuddle and he was on his way. This got me thinking on the way home, about how i last saw him as my brother, and the ROTJ in the 80,s was the last time i had my brother. After that, its girls, music etc to any typical teenager which led him into the life he is still in now.

I suppose im saying all this because i want everyone to realise that life is for living and that it is also short. To me now , TFA is here and i will welcome it. Im sceptical, but open minded now so lets just enjoy the ride and enjoy being the custodians of vintage SW. I really hope that Grant gets his mojo back too, because it really cut me up seeing his post the other day.

Peace out to all here :)
