I just bought a carded die cast pod car from ebay and I specifically asked for it be sent in a box when I paid - not a jiffy bag.

The seller sent it really quick and left me good feedback.

It arrived today in the thinnest jiffybag going, card was ripped and bubble cracked.

This was the sellers response when I asked for a refund

SORRY TO HEAR THAT IT ARRIVED IN THAT CONDITION I HAVE NO RECOLECTION OF YOU ASKING FOR BOX "ALL" GOODS I SENT OUT WERE FIRST CLASS WHEN THEY LEFT ME BAG AND CONTENTS WERE IN A1 CONDITION WHEN THET LEFT ME ALL GOODS I SELL ON EBAY ARE CLEARLY MARKED FRAGILE AND SENT FIRST CLASS ALSO THE CLOUD CAR HAS BEEN STORED CORRECTLY FOR MANY YEARS ANY PROBLEMS SHOULD BE SORTED THROUGH POST OFFICE NOT ME I DO NOT OFFER REFUNDS AS PART OF MY SELLING POLICY.

Admittedly he had marked 'do not drop' on the jiffy bag, and it had been stored 'correctly' for years

It dropped at least a metre when it came through my letterbox

Unbelievable

Send him a copy of the email were you stated how it should be packaged and demand a refund.

Jason

Already done both those things - he's gone quiet now. Hopefully he wont respond and I'll get refunded withouth having to pay recorded delivery to send a knackered card back

I've generally done alright in disputes, but it always annoys me having to spend more returning an item than the seller spent in the first place.

I'm after another die cast cloud car if anyone can help

(or a DV tie)

Sorry to hear that Spoons.
A couple of things though mate
Who is the seller?
And have you updated the ebay named and shamed thread?

Open a dispute with PP and get your money back.
I hate wankers that send things in Jiffy bags, even if you don't specifically ask. It doesn't take a genius to realise whatever is in it will get destroyed in the post!
It's just greed on their part, saving themselves a few pennies.
WANKERS!

I've been burned a lot recently too, I'm beginning to not mind paying extra to the dealers. And have you seen how much cheaper Brians Toys is recently

The seller is bluehorton1234 Hes sold a bit of vintage in the past, I'm amazed he's still got 100%

I'll update the bad seller list too

I'll neg him in a few days

I AM NOT SORRY TO HEAR THAT IT ARRIVED IN THAT CONDITION I CONVENIENTLY HAVE NO RECOLECTION OF YOU ASKING FOR BOX AND NOW I HAVE YOUR MONEY I DON'T ****ING CARE ANYWAY "ALL" GOODS I SENT OUT WERE FIRST CLASS WHEN THEY LEFT ME BAG AND CONTENTS WERE IN A1 CONDITION WHEN THET LEFT ME AND I NOW I HAVE YOUR MONEY I DON'T ****ING CARE ALL GOODS I SELL ON EBAY ARE CLEARLY MARKED FRAGILE AND SENT FIRST CLASS ALSO THE CLOUD CAR HAS BEEN STORED CORRECTLY FOR MANY YEARS ANY PROBLEMS SHOULD BE SORTED THROUGH POST OFFICE NOT ME AS I HAVE YOUR MONEY AND DON'T ****ING CARE I DO NOT OFFER REFUNDS AS PART OF MY SELLING POLICY SO I JUST PACK ITEMS ANY OLD HOW AND BECAUSE I WRITE FRAGILE ON THEM IT ISN'T MY FAULT AND DID I MENTION I HAVE YOUR MONEY SO I DON'T ****ING CARE.

Well, I guess the seller has your money so the seller doesn't care?

I have to say I'm surprised that the seller didn't over use the word mate in the response or make reference to the fact that they have sold loads of items and never had this problem before.

The last time it happened to me I just left a negative straight away. I sent an email, a mesage with the paypal payment and ebay message asking for the MOC not to be sent in a jiffy bag. It turned up in a jiffy bag..........you just can't reason with stupdity.

I'll let him sweat a bit, he's about to lose his 100% feedback which must concern him a little bit...

Spoons,
What a tosser!!!!
I'm going to contact him(I reckon a few more of us should as well)and let him know I won't be buying any of his item's if that's the way he treats his buyers!!!
TWAT!!! :x :x

Very sorry to hear about that Spoons  definately open up a dispute right away and waste no time getting your money back!!

Hope its sorted quicky and in you favour (as it should be)!!

And hit up his dsr (gold star ratings) as these seem to becoming more and more important to ebay.

When it happens to me I also send an email asking how they expected the item to survive in the modern day postal system inside the their poor packaging. I've never got a response to this question...................

I will only send loose figures in jiffy bag. The worst i have eever sent to me is a AFA moc just wrapped in a black bag. Lucky when i recevied it there was no damage

It's happened again

I received a boxed Palitoy Snowspeeder today, the snowspeeder was carefully wrapped in tissue paper inside the box, and the box was wrapped in brown paper and stuck in the post

I'd even asked for additional pics of the box to check its condition, so the seller must have known I was bothered about condition

Luckily it escaped relatively unharmed. I've got a Palitoy Falcon arriving soon, can't wait to see how thats packaged. Probably have the stamp stuck direct on the box and the address scrawled over the pic of the Falcon

Best one I had Spoons was a Taun-Taun wrapped in brown paper with my name and address imprinted on the box because the cock had pressed on that hard with the pen!!! :x :x :x :x

Posted about this before, but I received a boxed Vader tie fighter that a seller posted loose inside the box with one sheet of brown paper around the box. The postman literally handed it to me and then gave me the 17 bits that had fallen out when he lifted in the depot. You wouldn't even have known it was once a tie fighter.
I emailed the seller asking him what the **** he was playing at, no reply funnily enough!
WANKER!
