I don't understand how people don't get it, I mean a lot of people I no don't understand my obsession and I say to them their's a lot of thing's I don't collect but I can understand why people collect anything really. Evan modern Art I can understand to an extent, although I don't get it at all. Then their's stuff like old medicean bottles which can go for £100 of thousands. I mean on the grand scale of collecting, vintage Star Wars is still cheap compared to a lot of stuff.

I think people do get it more now than they did say 20-25 years ago. Star Wars is on bloody everything these days and has been for quite some time. With that and the huge nostalgia/retro love-in that seems to be going on for everything 80's, there cannot be many people going right up to older generations who don't know that Star Wars is popular and the old toys are worth a fortune. It still amazes me though when I meet someone who hasn't seen Star Wars. I treat them with suspicion :?

My mrs is pretty ok with it all - she knows the rough value, and is fine with it. I bought a new hi-fi last year, which was silly money and she was fine with that too. So, I'm basically thinking she might be an alien, maybe one of those bodysnatchers... or perhaps has a dirty little secret herself (closet full of my little ponies or something). I'll keep digging.

I'm sat here reading this thread and wondering if anyone elses partners/gf's or wives bring up Star Wars in an argument when they don't see eye to eye???

Had a few Star wars related digs from the Mrs earlier today over a disagreement about sausages of all things  She did the on-line food order yesterday and bought some, the order came this morning and I unpacked it so I would have put them in the fridge (not that I ever look look at what I'm unpacking for more than 10 seconds or as long as it takes to find a suitable place for it) but apparently I'm to blame for not remembering we already had sausages when she called me from the butchers this afternoon and asked if I wanted some..to which I replied yes..even though she was the one that bought some the night before.

Apparently if she had been talking about Star Wars I would have remembered

Think she's just given you permission for a Hoth Scene in the freezer box there Joe :D

I've sold a couple of bits on ebay and I'm always surprised by the number of people whose address is a work one. I always wonder whether it's just for convenience, or whether they are keeping something secret from the people at home.

Well if a woman has a problem with me collecting its adios muchachos. Been collecting for 25 years and I will be damned if a woman is going to change that. I guess I am pretty cynical these days! :p

That's a classic in our house but it's always the misses who doubles up on thing's not me. :? I always blamed her for getting stuff that's not on the list now whenever we run out of stuff it's my fault because it wasen't on the list!

It's the same with clothes, when she ask's me if I like a dress or something I just say yeah it's nice but haven't you already got one like that?

Star Wars is more interesting than sausages though!

My Mrs is quite cool with it although she's a bit out on the value of things. I showed her the $38k Ben DT on Facebook the other week and she guessed at £50. I told it was very rare so she upped her estimate too £100

She does keep referring to the ATAT as "that dog thing" grrrrr

Ha ha, loving the stories lads, who'd have thought the mrs would have complained at having too much sausage eh Joe!

We've recently moved onto our house and it's a real doer upper so we're not too fused about making a mess.
I've been buying beaters recently for a little Christmas project and putting them around the house on any horizontal surface I can find. I've got an army of dengars guarding all the light switches at the moment. I'm going to keep going and see at what point she says enough. She hasn't objected to the DSC guarding the shitter so I recon there's a fair bit of mileage in it yet.
