Selling my complete vintage figure collection- advice please

This is the book that I purchased to chase down the figures. Action figure archive by Sansweet. It's a lush piece of work.

This is the inside of the book. I used this like a bible to make sure when I got each figure it had the correct weapon with it. Most of the figures I picked up to complete the collection were purchased from a guy called Jim Stevensom from Mansfield....he used to be pretty big at the toy fairs.

And here is a close up of the vinyl cape Jawa. I'd like to hear your feedback.

Hi Tony. Wecome to the Forum 8)

Thats some very nice figures there.

"I also have some variants, 2 Yoda's with different coloured snakes, different coloured hair for Luke and Ben, Small/large head Han Solo and several more."

Have a list of all the variants included?

Liam :)

I think the only other variant is the Bespin Leia, with the neck/collar and the Bespin Lando with teeth/no teeth.

The jawa cape looks thick to me- does it have the same feel as ben, vader or landos cape? The genuine cape should be pliable. Yours looks like a possible eBay thicker cape fake. If your camera has a macro setting it should show the tell tale detail of a genuine VC Jawa cape ;)

Nice collection you have there dude.

Good luck Liam

Err hmmm... Nudges Ed!

It's not Liams yet matey!

Finally imageshack has decided to work again.

Here are some close ups of the Jawa with Ben Kenobi as a comparison. The cape is slightly darker than Ben's, doesn't show as much here as in actuality.

Here is a close up of the outside of the cape. It feels rougher than Bens/Vaders etc and it has a leather-type effect as opposed to the smooth outer of Bens.

Here it is next two the cloth-caped Jawa. Pretty much the same. The eye paint on the vinyl Jawa is more than on the cloth one.

And finally, there is a number on the leg of the Jawa. I don't know if that makes any difference. GMF GI 1977.

Thanks for all your feedback, you're being incredibly helpful.

*Cough* Sorry Bram!

The Jawa cape is fake. The key tell is one side should be smooth, like a vader cape, and the other should have cross hatching- so when you run your finger nail down it, it should make a "zip" noise.

Excluding the cross hatching (which is tiny) it should be textureless.

Also yours is too thick (as the actress said to the bishop)

Wrong COO stamp for the figure too

Armholes look loose, they should be water tight around the arms.

Because I am bored shitless I will post some pictures of a legit VC Jawa:

^You can see how tight the armholes are to the arms

^This shows how thin the cape is too

Two together 8)

Thanks for all the feedback. I've looked at all of the photos you have posted in comparison to the one that I have and the cape is indeed slightly thicker. It's thicker than the capes on the other figures that I have.

Well...at least i've learned something....hehe. I actually can't remember the guy that I purchased it from, it was just a stallholder at the NEC, and it was quite a while ago now. It was a toss-up between two and I went for this one as it was the least expensive.

At least I thought I HAD a real one for a while!
