Hi there. Firstly, apologies if this comes off as a noob post. Just looking for a helping hand as I trawl through the murky depths of selling my collection.

I'm moving house in the next 2 months and i'm downsizing. I've had my Star Wars figures living under my bed for the last 8 years and it's time to let them go. I have a complete collection of all of the original figures that I built over the years. The vast majority of them have been with me since childhood, the other 3rd I purchased from toy fairs and dealers all over the country to complete the collection.

It was mostly just for me, so I don't really understand all the talk about grading figures or how the initials/numbers work, I didn't get into that side of the collection. All I can say is the set is near mint, no yellow Stormtroopers or anything like that, and I have all of the weapons. The set includes the last 16 as well, and the only real "damage" to any figure is the Imperial dignatary has a very tiny bit on the end of his nose where the paint has worn off.

I would like to sell the set complete. I asked a guy his advice and he said to split them on Ebay for the best results, however, I don't want to be left with one or two of the more standard figures left over. I have a collectors book to go with the set, what I used to chase up the final figures I needed (called the action figure archive).

I also have some variants, 2 Yoda's with different coloured snakes, different coloured hair for Luke and Ben, Small/large head Han Solo and several more.

I also have a vinyl caped Jawa which I purchased from a toy fair at the NEC a few years back. I've been told it's not an original though (which riled me as I payed £200 for that....win some, you lose some I guess).

Anyway. Sorry if this is a bit vague, but how much is a complete set likely to go for? I came across this site from a google search, and it looks like this is the place to get some advice. I can post photos for anyone who is seriously interested.

Many thanks for any suggestions given. I look forward to hearing from you.

Tony.

Hi if you dont want any left over you could always sell them seperately, then any that dont sell put them in a lot. Otherwise your not going to get the money of selling them loose. Also keep in mind ebays fees ect if selling there.

Hi! You need post some pictures of your collection, it is essential for valuations.

As a rough idea a beater complete set of 79 with vintage weapons is worth £150-200 ish, if they are mint possibly £3-400. The last 17 anywhere from £150, up to £400 if mint.

I sold 13 POTF figures off a few months ago, sold seperately and got £350, I still have the four most sort after ones so you might get £500+ if they are C9 and you sell seperately.

If the VC Jawa is fake then £5, if its legit anything from £150 for a poor one up to £350 if it is really mint. Graded at AFA 85 then your nudging £450, a 90 and possibly £600.

So you could have a collection that is worth anything from £305 to £1120!!!! Get some pictures up

Hi and welcome to the forum!

My advice would be to read this and post an introduction on here.

http://www.starwarsforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=3797&p=159876#p159876

This gives you an introduction, its nice you've put a back story in this post, but if you could post some pictures of your collection then that would be great, also, if you have an eBay account post a link to your id. This will helpwith feedback etc...

There are many very helpful collectors on here that will give you an unbiased value for your figures.

You've come to the right place though and good luck with your sales.

Thanks,

Bram

Wow Ed... You don't mess around!

Thanks for the quick responses. As I mentioned in the inital post I talked to someone I know on a seperate forum (videogames) and mentioned I had the figures. He was a collector and saw the Jawa and said it was a fake. I purchased it with the belief it was above board. Could never find the guy I purchased it from.

I'll pop and take a few pictures now and post them up.

And these are the last 16. Unfortunately It looks like age hasn't been kind to the Ewoks. I've just got these out for the first time in years and it seems like some light got onto them. The bodies have been discoloured, although the others are fine. Same with the Rancor keeper too. Also here is the vinyl cape Jawa and the Blue Snaggletooth. All the other figures in the collection are as you would expect. The weapons aren't pictured, but rest assured they are all present and correct.

If there are any other figures you would like to see just give me a nudge and i'll get them uploaded.

As I said, I would really prefer it if they went as a set. Some of them i've treasured since I got them for christmas (i'm surprised they have lasted as well as they have)> It's funny, most of the figures i've had since the eighties were the rare ones....hehe. It's been the standard ones i've had to track down.

This is the book i'll give away with the set.

Cheers Bram  Its been a slow afternoon!!

Could you post some close ups of the Jawa, the cape looks pretty good for colour, try and take some close ups of the cape itself, and describe what the texture feels like on both sides (in and out)

You have some nice figures there buddy, the Yak Face, Han Carbo, Warok and lummat are indeed yellowed. That will have a big bearing on the price. Also looks to be a few guns missing, do you have them all and are they the correct POTF versions? (Ie black endor blaster and palace blaster?)
I will stick my neck out for you, based on them being complete:
Last 17
Yak Face £45
Luke Stormy £45
Blue Snag depending on the condition of the silver paint £70-120
EV 9D9 £40
Amanaman £40
A Wing Pilot £35
Warok £15
Han Carb £20
Luke Poncho £30
Gunner £25
Lando General £30
Dignitary £10
Anakin £5
Lummat £10
Romba (looks a little discoloured) £15

I reckon you would net about £440-480 if sold individually. If you wanted them gone in one hit you would probably get £300.

I have just bought a Yak with original staff Mint £70.00 on his way now in the post :) so yes without weapon anything between £45 and £55.00 but if he is badly discouloured wouldn`t like too say, but i think you have the weapon as stated so he should be fine, watched one sell about a month ago with one foot lol he fetched over £30.00 quid :)

Whoops! I missed Barada! Easily done

Barad £25-30

So roughly your talking £450-500 if you sell them individually, and probably £350-370 as a job lot. I think i was a little pessimistic with my earlier job lot price

Hi guys. Here are some more pictires of the whole set. Forgive me if I get the odd figure in the wrong set.

These are the Star Wars figures.

And here is the Jedi collection. I added in the R2-D2 with the pop out lightsaber here as I forgot to put it into the other photo I took.

As mentioned in the first post, I have all the weapons for the figures, I just didn't include them as I would have had to spend a few hours with the book matching them all up. I've had most of the set with weapons since the eighties, so I know for a fact they are all the correct ones, and from the book all the other weapons I purchased with the figs to complete the set are all correct. It's hard to remember what blaster went with what figure......hehe.
