I think the SS idea is great and has always ended well for me and in fairness have only seen isolated incidents like this.
Walkies SS did seem to put a lot of effort in to make his own moc cards for him to open which seems an odd thing to do if you were knowingly sending touched up figures.
walkie's SS is 100% a genuine mistake. All replacements have now been purchased and are on way.
The fact that Nick never thanked his SS or revealed his SS gift shows that he either knows he's ****ed up and is maybe embarrassed.
hes not the only one to still show. Last month I had a post that surprisingly I deleted for me. If I sent a gift and the SS didn't show a photo ID feel either bad that my gift was **** or pissed at the lack of gratitude. Some guys have been fairly meh in their response IMO. SS is more about the giving than the receiving.
Perhaps he scrimped on postage and didn't get it tracked to save a few £, but doesn't want anyone to know, or just left it too late and thought the best way to save face is to claim he posted something.
nobody was asked to send tracked. He told me he tracked them. No number received. He claims he has receipts. No photos. If the first parcel went astray and a receipt was supplied then fair enough - I think Paul may have accepted it. But 3?
I can't imagine why any collector with any kind of good reputation among SWFUK members would purposely scam someone out of a £30 SS gift. It's just not worth it so must be some other explanation other than for monetary gain.
i'll leave this bit if others want to comment. From my experience Nick was slow but a great dealer. His FS thread didn't work too well however.
Despite this I will continue to take part as getting a SW based gift on Xmas day is a highlight of the day. Maybe some stricter entrance rules could be applied. Maybe 200 post minimum and good feedback rating. I know that wouldn't avoid the incident with Nick, but would send a message that only tried and tested trustworthy members are welcome to join in.
