Frank, if you want to organise, great, by all means do. Burnsy organised it last year and can fill you in with all the details if he wants to?

One thing I know is that it will only be worth it if you have a certain amount of participants (say, 16 maybe? Stu?). If you look at the roll call, we're already nearly there after this thread has been open for only a few days.

As long as I can still participate I am happy enough to put the time in guys, just need someone to show me the ropes & all is good!

I take it I just have to get everyone to give me there names & addresses?

folks then put a list of wants up on another thread IE my wishlist this year Santa is .-.-

I then put all the names in a hat & get someone impartial to choose 2 tickets at a time from said hat creating the SS buddies list (who gets who for the gifting)

I then contact each member & inform them of who they are buying for

They then check the thread of wanted's & go & buy & send the items out, to there chosen SS buddy.


Am I in the right ball park??, as if so it seems simple enough & I am willing

Sounds about right Frank from what I know.

Two other things that need to be decided on:

- Budget
- Deadlines for participation, wish lists, shipping etc. Might be they'll have to be sharp as people need time to shop and get their presents out.

It's good of you to offer up your services but I really don't mind doing it again for you all?
Secret Santa is always good fun but I won't put my name down on the list this year.

Just a few bits to add to this. If you're in, make sure you follow it through and particpate all the way. If you need to drop out let the organiser know asap so it doesn't ruin somebodys Secret Santa. Ensure you have your item posted say at least 10 days before Xmas Day to allow for postage delays. And when you put up your want list, be realistic and give a few feasible options.

How does £25 sound to folks? or should we make it £30??

I think the middle of this month say the 20th? may be an ideal cut off point/time, this would give us time to get the items (as not all will be easy to find)/packaging/cards etc & get them out in time for Santa to get his fat butt down our chimneys :mrgreen:

Only just spotted Stu's post,we must have both been typing at the same time, I am easy about it guys Stu can do the honours if he wants, but I am happy enough if your willing to let me, already had a great idea that i think will go down well but its a secret as I am santa's little helper :lol:
