Sorry couldn't resist the titles.

I think I'm now getting what these are but not 100%. I know what a COO is. So can someone clearly explain what the different bars, lines, scars etc mean? And to continue another thread. If most of these figures were made in the Far East why remove a COO if it is only being repackaged? Is that a scar? Were there really employees paid to file these COOs off?

My take on it is this, for each of the figures many individual moulds were created, initially these would have been very similar if not identical. These moulds were probably sculpted and created by Kenner then sent to the factories that were to mould the actual figures. It is possible to trace the "life" of some of these moulds from the coo's that you find on them. For example:-

Mould 1, Originally with Hong Kong Coo, this mould gets sent to a Chinese factory, so the factory gouge out "Made in Hong Kong" and create a large negative bar in the mould with "Made In China" on. This mould then gets used to produce "Euro" figures, so the "Made in China" text is filled in creating a raised bar with no coo on.

Mould 2, Originally with Taiwan Coo, this mould gets used to produce "euro pbp/poch" figures so solder is laid over the coo leaving a positive area in the mould that will leave a scar on the moulded figure where the coo was.

Mould 3, Originally with Hong Kong coo, this mould gets used for "euro palitoy/meccano" figures, the "Made in Hong Kong" negative text in the mould is filled in, leaving no trace of a coo (smooth). Now as the process isnt always perfect maybe a letter dosent get filled in properly, like the G in Hong Kong on the "Palitoy" Chewbacca :)

Think that covers my take on it, but I may be wrong! lol.
