Like I said I couldn't sleep and was VERY bored.

Here's my greatest eleven Premiership footballers. (With far too many United players in it for my liking  )

1 Peter Schmeichel,
2 Gary Neville, (No other decent right backs)
3 Steve Bruce,
4 Gary Pallister
5 Marcel Desailly
6 Roy Keane,
7 Ryan Giggs,
8 Ruud Gullit,
9 Patrick Vieira,
10 Gianfranco Zola,
11 Dennis Bergkamp.

I almost included, Henry, Fowler, Colin Hendry, Andy Goram and Edgar Davids, but I thought the others who were in were better or had had more of an impact.

As before, any one got a different eleven or wanna slag off any of my choices?

Thought I'd post these as we seem to be quite quiet at the minute (and Jabba is away off on Hols for a few days).

Andy Goram and Edgar Davids? You're having a laugh !!

I agree with Schmeichel in goal along with Keane and Giggs in midfield but you don't have a left back in your team.

Shearer has to be in there along with Henry as the strike force ahead of Fowler, Owen, Drogba and Andy Cole.

I'll have to think about the defence but Bruce and Pallister were at their best when the premier league began before the real top quality players came over here.

1. Schmeichel
2.
3.
4.
5.
6. Keane
7. Ronaldo
8. Gerrard
9. Shearer
10. Henry
11. Giggs

Desailly is playin left back, and the "dumb nigger" can like it or lump it!
I couldn't really think of any outstanding out and out ball playing centre backs. So I went for those two.

Andy Goram, IMHO was at one point one of the best keepers in the world (not when he was playin in the premiership, hence I didn't pick him, but still). The same for Davids (except obviously he was a central midfielder and not a keeper  ).

I went for Zola and Bergkamp as much for the influence they had and the moments of skill, but certainly Henry could just as easily have got in there. As for Andy Cole, I'd pick Jason Lee ahead of him!
He may have scored goals for United, but ANYONE could have scored goals in that team. Had United had Robbie Fowler, RVN or even Shearer in those days they would have bagged 35+ league goals a season easily.

I reckon it's always easier to pick the newer players over those from years ago. Hence I didn't stick in Gerrard or Ronaldo. The guys I went for did it over a much longer period of time.

Andy Cole had previously scored a lot of goals for Newcastle before he went to Man Utd though, and has scored at clubs that he has been to since then.

I don't agree !! I could have gone for Kanchelskis and Ince in midfield but I believe Gerrard and Ronaldo are better players now than those two were at their peak, especially when it comes to scoring goals. 8)

My midfield and attack could dominate and destroy any team in world football history !!

Aye, he scored goals for Newcastle when they were still in their "we will score one more than you" phase!
Just look at how many he ****ing missed week in week out!

I don't think many club sides could cope with any (serious) selection of the Premiership's greatest ever players!

How long would Ronaldo last against Julian Dicks, Vinnie Jones or Mick Harford, when they were in their prime!?
He would be left in heap CRYING two mins into the game.

You've also gone for Zola and Bergkamp who both played behind the main centre forward when the best player in that role was probably Eric Cantona.

Julian Dicks would never catch Ronaldo and Vinnie would be too worried about Gerrard and Keane dominating the midfield to even think about him.

I think my back four will be:

2. Finnan RB
3. Keown
4. Campbell
5. Carragher LB

I know I have two deep lying centre forwards but with a midfield like that..........

As for Cantona, THE MOST OVERRATED PLAYER IN PREMIERSHIP HISTORY!
What did United do the season after he left.............

Keown and Campbell I can see the logic in. There haven't really been any outstanding right or left backs over the years.
Finnan over Gary Neville!?
What about Dennis Irwin at left back?

I know he's a money grabbing, disloyal, phone in his ass piece of ****, but surely Cashley Cole in his pre-Chelski days was a better left back than Carragher  - I like your central defence though, but I would have Adams insread of Campbell.

What United did afterwards is irrelevant, he inspired both Leeds and Man United to league titles in consecutive years when neither had been even close to top since the 70's. I prefer teams to play with 2 goal scoring centre forwards, players in the hole, link players or what ever name the "experts" give them are not for me!! Zola, Bergkamp, Cantona and even Teddy Sheringham are all good players but give me the goals of a Shearer, Owen, Fowler, Van Nistelrooy, Drogba and now Torres anyday. 8)

I've never rated Gary Neville and Finnan very rarely has a poor game and is a better crosser of the ball. Irwin scored a few goals in his time from free kicks but I've got Ronaldo, Gerrard, Henry and Giggs in the side so I think I have enough fire power for those situations !!

Ashley Cole is good going forward but Carragher was solid at left back whenever he played there under Houllier.

I couldn't remember how long Tony Adams actually played in the premier league to be honest so I went for Sol Campbells pace alongside the evil Keown !!

You don't see people arguing that Henning Berg was a super star though and he was at both Blackburn and United!

Hennig Berg didn't inspire two teams though !!

It was Jack Walkers millions, King Kenny's managerial genius and Shearers goals that took Blackburn to the top and Berg went to Man United after Cantona's inspiration.

This topic is really starting to annoy me as I keep praising the Manc Scum !!

Did Cantona inspire United? I'd argue they would have won it without him. The team they had would have won the league with me or you playin up front!

It was Jack Walkers millions that won the league for Blackburn, he was the first Abramovich, only difference being he is Britsh and Abramovich is Russian.

1 southhall
2 rob jones
3 steve bruce
4 sol campbell
5 des walker/paul parker /den irwin/stu pearce
6 ronaldo
7 keane
8 gerrard
9 john barnes though not at his best in prem
10 ian rush see john barnes
11 henry

I'd forgotten about Stuart Pearce. What a left back he was, and a triple hard bastard.

Rob Jones would have gone on to be much better remembered but for injury forcing him to retire so early.

Potentially the best right back in the premier league would have been Markus Babbel before he got his serious illness. :(

You can't really have Ian Rush in the best premier league side as he was finished as a top striker by 1990 and you can't have one season wonders otherwise Fabrizio Ravanelli would be in the side and I really wanted Roy Evans to sign him at the time  and the same goes for Christian Ziege who was great for Boro but sadly crap for us and cost us more money in court !! :x

Another right back who's career was ruined by injury/illness, and a dam good one at that.
