It'll be harder to spot the inserts than it will the repro boxes that is for sure.
 
A mistake was made. What really angered people is the fact that he didn't say "sorry guys I didn't think properly and messed up" instead of the rubbish of putting there to educate. You don't use words like high quality if you're educating people!

This has pissed me off no end, I was having a nice afternoon until I read that thread!

The boxes aren't the worst bit, it's the inserts! I bought an X-wing last year that came with repro inserts advertised as orginal. Thanks a ****ing bunch you ****ing ****.
And then of course there's the repro cardboard bits for the playsets! Oh and the shelf talkers!

I like your question on RS - for me Orme is worse simply because elements the community are allowing him (either by sending him boxes to copy or by purchasing the end results) to flood the market with reproduction items - with Tony, people had no choice

Orme is simply doing this to make money - he doesn't care what people do with these boxes once they have been paid for - the fact that nut jobs like Karen are amongst his biggest supporters should warn people away, yet even yesterday people were sticking up for him on FB !

It's interesting that he's now producing what he should have done from the start and only that, replica boxes of unproduced items, that way there is no confusion, I think if he'd have done only that then I think he would have been embraced by the community

The dude is a money grabbing twat, but so are the ****ing "collectors" who support this.

I've said before on the board that I work in licensing and yes, he is indeed violating a copyright and a licence, it is in fact a direct violation of Gentle Giants licence who have licensed the vintage Kenner line and box art (Cantina playset is an example of the reproduced box art) I actually contacted someone at Jedinews to see if they could contact someone at Gentle Giant but nothing came from it!
 
I find it unbelievable that people in the Star Wars collecting world on RS or wherever are actually endorsing and are interested in these. And it's not a case of - oh but they do look nice, it's a cheaper alternative and it's each to their own. Bollocks. It's completely irresponsible and heading down a road that will only encourage more fakery and rip off merchants. I'm not surprised everyone has gone barmy about it. Anyone manufacturing or peddling reproductions/exact copies should be hung out to dry :evil:

Reading his posts all I can think about is how big a deal would it be for me to get banned from RS, would I miss it that much because all I want to do is call him a nob

Indeed. What a total bellend this guy is defending Darren Orme. It's weird on RS how people tolerate this **** without getting all angry. Reading the posts of people who think that way makes my head hurt. :|
