ROTJ Palitoy MOC bubble types and preferences

Madine is a good example of a Pal ROTJ figure that has a few different bubble variations.
Double stem:
Trilogo:
And small "Kenner" Style - more prone to yellowing than either of the above:
Interestingly the third one has a card COO of "Made in Taiwan" which may mean production shifted during ROTJ or that several factories produced the same figures simultaneously (both theories would be a good explanation as to why there are so many different bubble types)

Yes thats the Chewbacca Joe. So thats a long Palitoy bubble? Palitoy because of the rectangular bubble and the curved corners where it meets the card.
I think that's my 65 Back Madine with the twin stem bubble.
I'm confused by the others.
I thought Tri Logo bubble was rounded corners and squared edges where it meets the card and Palitoy bubble was rectangular/squared corners and rounded edges where it meets the card.
The 2nd Madine with the Tri Logo bubble has the squared corners where the bubble meets the card but the bubble itself looks rectangular like a palitoy.
Also the 3rd Madine with the Kenner bubble, the bubble looks very rounded similar to a Tri Logo but it has rounded corners where it meets the card like a Palitoy,

There are two types of "common" Trilogo bubbles (well three but two major variants) shown there but both bubbles attach to the card the same way as shown in the link, you must note that the right angle/squared off/Straight line or whatever you want to call it bubbles only appear on these "Trilogo" bubbles (confusing because as you can see they appeared much earlier). All other Palitoy/Kenner bubbles should be curved. That doesn't mean the curved bubbles can't appear on Trilogo cards though

Great reading Joe. Well I started off ok until I got to PBP and Meccano bubbles. I presume they are rare on Palitoy cards though so just look out for the square edges where it meets the card?

You needn't worry too much on Meccano/PBP bubbles appearing on Pal ROTJ cards because it won't happen.
If you were talking Trilogos on the other hand then it would be a different story..get ready
A good (and confusing) example of what I mean is this:
Three different Trilogo variations but all three seemingly have (although I can't confirm all three are an exact match..only measured two!) the same bubble.
One is considered German (or Parker produced), one is Palitoy and the other is 100% Meccano origin
Back to Palitoy ROTJ cards...the "Kenner-esque" Madine bubble is just a term that I made up as it looks like a bog standard US Kenner bubble, it yellows, it fits and does the job has the waffle pattern yada yada.
Overall, there are plenty of bubble variations on Palitoy ROTJ figures and all have their pros and cons. If I were putting together a set I wouldn't worry too much on what I had (because I am fine with Trilogo bubbles even though being so big they can allow the figure to get damaged and be dented themselves) but I would try my best to stay away from double stems. They look **** hot but they can break/split/lift on you and that hurts!

Thanks Joe that's great. I still find it hard to differentiate the Palitoy and Kenner bubbles otherthan the Kenner ones are a bit snugger and more prone to yellow. I must admit I prefer the "Palitoy" bubbles over the Tri Logo and Twin Stem bubbles.

I agree with you on this Andy, I also have the 65back with the PBP figure and imperial blaster. Would you say your 2 45 backs are the same figure as this or do yours have a lighter face? Do your 2 have the same colour faces and would you say there the same as the PBP pale face or more pink?

I'm sure you know that there is 4 slightly different faces on these PBP Han's, at the moment I believe they where all made by PBP at different times for them selfs and Palitoy, if yours are the same but lighter then that would fit in with my thinking.
Also you said a few posts back that the clipper where packaged at clipper, do you know that for fact? I was thinking Palitoy did that and then sent out the figures all ready carded, just my thoughts but I also think that's what happened with the German ones?

I've got loose pale and pink faced pbp Hans but I my 45 backs are lighter faced rather than the 'embarassed' pink in the link. They have a really washed out pink face. Does your 65 back have the bright pink face?
