ROTJ Han Solo

Any information on this would be great. (sorry for the flash)

Its a ROTJ Han Solo with a Tri-logo Bubble. I bought it in 1995 for £40.

They have blacked marker through the competition detail date on the back.

Is this a rare one?

The black inking of the date is quite common, either done at the packaging factory or at stores (I think they extended the original offer)

I take it that they started using tri-logo bubbles on Rotj cards as part of the transistion.

Yes that's right, the trilogo bubbles can be found on a lot of 65 back Palitoys, interestingly (or not) there was a lot of bubbles used on Palitoy ROTJ cards and Palitoy Trilogos.

Some of the earlier ROTJ bubble shapes are found on Trilogos and the "common" Trilogo bubble like yours are also found on the ROTJ cards.

There wasn't a huge amount of time difference between ROTJ + Trilogos though for Palitoy so it's no wonder things are all mixed up.

You can also find double stems on Palitoy ROTJ cards but these were earlier and I don't think any double stems have been found on any Palitoy produced Trilogos so I would say the double stems are by far the earliest bubble type which got replaced.
