'Revenge' X Wing

I probably was thinking of Walmart but I'm sure there's a big chain of wool... something or other over there - I think I'd best go back to sleep :)

Woolworths is actually an american company (or was) - F.W.Woolworths. They dumped the stores as we know them to go into sports retail, but the name stayed on in Europe. I think the American version became Footlocker

Looks like you're right. There is a wikipedia article on Woolworths. I had no idea they were an Amercian company. The only time I had ever been in one was while in the U.K. It makes you wonder if by chance some of those baggie packs could have ended up over here in the U.S. stores. Kaybee got Trilogo and Palitoys, so I would think it could be possible.

They do have a heritage archive, of which includes a toy section I was hoping to get a good look at. It's a real great shame as one of the last surviving subsidiaries of The Palitoy Company, Chad Valley will probably go too as Woolworth’s own the brand. That pretty much leaves only Airfix left.

About a fifth of my day to day work is for Woolworths and sadly was notified before it became public, letting all creditors know that they may/ may not get what is owed.

WH Smith will probably be next highstreet one to go.
