Booked my tickets for Saturday 26th. It has it's flaws but it'll be great to see it on the big screen again. Just wish the film was closer to the novel ❤️

I went last night and enjoyed it, must be at least a decade since I'd last seen it so a lot of it felt new.

Saying that, my critical view hasn't changed - a great story poorly executed. But, I can now appreciate that a lot of the dodgy script and acting was aimed at kids.

Speaking of which, the cinema was pretty packed with 30 year olds last night, they must have been kids the first time round. The cinema was pretty dead when I watched the OT last year 😔 I guess "our generation" is getting on!

Yup same at the cinema I was at - it was pretty full and lot's of 30 somethings with their kids, interesting to observe the generational shift with the prequels. I echo some of your sentiments on the script and execution..... not sure if you've read the novelisation but the book really stretches out Anakin's turn to the darkside and how he was being used in some way or another by the Jedi, Palpatine and even Padme once she starts to get involved with what'basically the birth of the rebellion and has her own angle on what she feels he should be doing etc......but it's squashed into the time period they had and they had to get the boom and bang popcorn elements in fot the kid like you say but having read the book it definitely gives you ah a feeling of "what if...."
Enjoyed seeing it on the big screen again though and my 24 year old and 14 year old love it lol 😁(y)
