Damn that painted one looks real, that could easily fool someone buying a job lot of figures!

Hmmm I was wondering when we might see something like this, I think this might possibly be an early attempt at 3d printing it could just be a cast but if its not that spells bad news for collectors, this could be the ultimate way for fakers to fake anything made out of plastic.

His molding skills are not great. It is a one piece mold most likely. Lacks articulation. It would fool someone util they had it
in hand. I would fear these more if they were carded.

Bang right Todd on card with a decent paint job they would be very difficult to spot. I have been keeping an eye on 3d printers and as soon as I saw them I thought they would be perfect for reproducing sw figures and guns, , hehe just had a look through this guys other listings, blue snaggly legs any one?

Just looked at all his listings (Repro dagobah boxes, side gunner gun)....he is dangerous. Gonna flood the market with all kinds of copies.

What a ****in little tool!

I fear those Yaks will fool a few newbie collectors who have saved all their money to buy an iconic L17 fig only to find out its a custom! :x

To be honest these have been around for an age. Some guy on RS has them in about 5 different colours. I really don't see a problem. Is anyone here gonna mistake that for a genuine Yak Face?? :?

Sure they could if you brought a job lot of figures and one of these yak faces was sitting there in the background giving you a cheeky little smile

The no eyed variant. Sorry but i'd laugh out loud at anyone on this forum who took one of these for a real Yak.

If painted correctly and sealed to a nice repro cardback....someone would get fooled by an ebay auction..
Until of course they had it in hand. I guess this can be siad of other repro though.

I guess I still do not understand 3D printers and how they produce cast items.....I am old.

Yeah that's a different matter. And like you say, even if painted well, once in hand anyone who knows what a Yak is is gonna know it's not real. You'd even have to paint the 'base' colour as the colour of this doesn't match any part of a real Yak so you'd have to paint the face and all! it would look SO off... again, laughter would ensue.
I doubt it's even the right material. These things are usually much more rubbery.
