I purchased most of my collection before I found this forum or really ever bothered to take note of the fact people made reproduction weapons. When I first heard about repro's I wondered why anyone would even bother!
It became quite clear very early as to why and even clearer now when you look at the money people make, it's no so much the ones selling the individual repro's who make the cash but the arseholes who sell complete figures using repro's to boost their sale price. I'm sure everyone here has been stung especially new comers like myself.
I read with interest a post a few days ago on here about a member who cleaned his figures and discovered a few repro's amongst his collection. With much anxiety, today using the float, bounce and visual reference tests, I decided to do the same, with the following results........
RED REPRO'S GREEN AUTHENTIC VINTAGE
To say I'm pissed off is an understatement! All my figures were purchased under the assumption via Ebay ( a lesson learned ) they were with their original vintage weapons with the exception of the three telescoping sabers which I purchased as repro as I couldn't afford originals ( I have marked them as repro ).
Hence this is why this place is invaluable and why the expertise and knowledge the members give on here will help serious collectors avoid dealing with the pricks that ruin an otherwise enjoyable hobby/addiction. I will now mark all these fakes a such until I can replace them with originals which when accomplished I will destroy the repro garbage.
Now searching for all weapons on the Red cloth  Such is life!
