Repro Vader saber. Should I have left a neg?

This guy needed his Neg.

The message made me laugh...

'Hey buddy, even though I tried to bump you, if I refund you will you keep it a secret so I can do the same to other people.'

What a twonk!

Well played on leaving him negative feedback, it is all he deserved. :D

If he is a repeat offender then negative is deserved. He is happy to state original when he cannot tell the difference, whether down to ignorance or otherwise!

Hey guys. Haven't properly been online in a few days, but i thought i'd post what I sent him back I'm a message. Looking forward to seeing if he gets arsey with me or not!

Dear joeytherat21,

Hi

I'll be honest, I don't believe you can be a collector of star wars for many years, without knowing a repro from the real deal. I've been collecting seriously for the past 3 years, and I could tell straight away that it wasn't real. It has been painted red, when the original sabers were just cast in red plastic. After being suspicious, I scratched it, an red paint came off, and it looks black underneath.

The fact is ebay is going downhill to collectors, because of people just out to make a quick buck, and are selling repro as vintage. I noticed that you also received another negative for selling repro as vintage, so it doesn't look like its just the one off to be honest.

I don't know what you mean by it being resolved, my guess is, that you want to refund me, so as the feedback can be removed, so you can potentially carry on scamming other people? I'm afraid that is something I am not going to do, I have friends on a few different online star wars collecting forums and sites, and it is a regular topic amongst them, that the fun of the hobby is being diminished by scammers on ebay and other sites, so if I can potentially stop and make a potential scammer think twice about listing repro as original by leaving negative feedback, then it is something I am going to do.

If it was just an honest mistake, I am sorry, but I maintain if you are a serious collector then you would know a repro from an original straight away!
