Hello im new on here my name is tom and have recently started collecting again after selling my loose graded collection a few years ago im flying along but last time i was collecting only painted pop up saber repros were about i have bought a droids r2d2 and 2 potf r2s one of these figure was advertised with reproduction saber but im unsure about the other as they are both different colours all 3 are cast in plastic
the one on the left was sold to me as a reproduction its cast in plastic and floats its slighty shorter than the other 2 the one in the middle was sold as a oringal with a last 17 r2d2 it floats but has no cirle on the handle the one on the right came with my droids r2d2 it has the circle but sinks in water again sold to me as a original all 3 are flexible
thanks in advance tom

Hello James yes the middle one floats but it dosnt have the circle on the handle the one on the left that was sold as a repo also floats

its the one on the right that dose not float it came with my droids r2d2 but it dose have the circle on the handle

All original pop up sabers have the circle on the handle  if there's no circle then they are repro's.

thanks for your input the one in the middle will not sink and there is no circle the platsic mold looks and feels the same as the one on the right with the circle im confused id already looked at the imperial gunnery the only repos it mentions for this saber are painted i hate repro just as well i didnt pay to much for the figure i got in a job lot

so what you are saying if there no circle on the handle it 100% repro yes

dose the one on the right look right then this one will not float and sinks every time

Yeah the one on the right with the circle looks good to me, and i'm sure pretty sure that all originals have the circle.....So if theres no circle i'd consider it a repro.

My R2-D2 pop up saber is AFA'd so i can't test to see it the saber floats or sinks unfortunately.....But i'm sure someone who has a loose one will test that for you

Thanks for your help Neil im keeping on to it anyway if it is a repro its a good quality one it exactly the same size and shape as the other i dont ever sell repro weapons once if i get them i give them to my son to play with
you have a nice collection i was looking at your wants see you collect the lettered sabers are you the guy i sold the luke farmboy to the other week on ebay ?

No worries Tom

No, i don't think i've bought a lettered saber off a Tom. Was it a Vader, Ben or Luke saber? I've bought a couple of Luke lettered saber recently on ebay. But one guy was called Liam and the other guy was Jason.

No you didnt by the lettered saber off me you bought a luke and returned it if it was you sorry again

tom

Yes that was me, No worries bud

(PS) It's good to have you on the forum, you've got some nice stuff on ebay

Sorry but I have to rattle the thread and say that both Sabers (Middle & Right) are legit. The one without the circle I have seen with the POTF R2s and the one with the circle from the Droids line. But that's not to say that they are exclusive to one or the other. Anyone have a carded POTF R2 to confirm that the Saber came without the circle?

Thanks for your input i bought a afa U85 potf r2 the other day and am waiting for it to arrive so i will be able to check myself
by the way i know there are a lot of U grade haters on here and i can see your point completely destroying nice carded figures is not good i do have several U grades in my collection but i have only ever paid what i would be prepared to pay for a normal 85 or 90 i never pay extra for the U weather its got a U in front of it makes no odds to me i got this one for £52 in a auction : :D

hey Neil i know i still cant believe i won it for that price there seem to be some real bargain's to be had at the moment
