Hello all,

Martin here, it's been a heck of a long time since I was active on SWFUK… since 2013, I think!

But! Like a moth to a flame, I've drifted back in to the vintage collecting orbit. A Stormtrooper focus began forming a good year ago… and slowly began to evolve.

I've started collecting Stormtroopers, TIE Fighter Pilots, AT-AT Drivers and Scout Troopers ranging from the First 12 through to TriLogo. Predominately Palitoy, as all my purchases and Christmas gifts from 1978 onwards was always from the Coalville site- brings back great childhood memories. A few Kenner cards have snuck in there along the way, so I've reconciled with myself to be not too much of a purist!

Anyhow, here's a couple of my latest purchases I wanted to share with you. I'm so happy with them.

A TriLogo 70 back with unique European imagery, and an unpunched 45 back. I can't stop staring at them!

More to follow as it grows. Thanks for looking!

Love all the troopers. A great focus. They were always my favourite figures as a kid. Do you collect the Snowies as well? Any pics of the others?

Very nice! Trilogo TF not easy to find in nice condition.
Many thanks, it's become one of my favourites already! In all honesty, I didn't take much notice of Trilogos when I started collecting in the 2010s, back then I concentrated on SW and ESB cards only. When I saw this for sale recently now I've come back, my first reaction was that I thought it was a custom... then did a quick bit of research. I was instantly smitten. The guy who sold it to me said that he had bought it in a toyshop in Tewkesbury in the late 1980s. The proprietor had a few unsold carded figures in a box... he wishes he'd bought them all. I got the feeling this was a reluctant sale on his part, but I assured him it was coming to a very appreciative home! It really is in great condition, a little yellowing to the bubble adhesive which I don't mind at all, it's all good vintage patina.

Ahhh, yes! I forgot to mention the Snowies! I've got a few cards and beaters... I'm enjoying putting my perfectionist slant to one side and embracing the gnarly nature of these. I've found I really like seeing the price stickers still attached, especially mark-downs... a real snapshot in time. I just wish I'd paid more attention to the bargain bins way back then!

This is what got me back in to vintage recently, and started the Stormtrooper focus: a really nice Takara Die Cast TIE Fighter. Love the Japanese printing of this card, bubble is in great condition. Came with the GW deep case, too!

Nice to see you back & posting with a fresh focu Martin, some lovely items already amassed mate, I do like the die cast Takara tie fighter, it's good to have some old blood back, as we've said on Mike's thread we need to old guard to get back on here & get the ball rolling again, as I miss the traffic.

Are you sticking to carded or have you considered the dark side? venturing into baggie territory, there are a lot of baggies the stormie came in as well as loads of cool multi packs, I figured this one may perk your interest -

Cheers mate, and you're right… your photo has certainly perked my interest! I reckon I may go on to the baggies after I've completed my carded run- it's the visual hit of the original cards that gets me giddy and takes me back to being 8 years old in my local toy shop being overwhelmed at all the figures racked up… and with only enough pocket money to buy just the one!! But seeng what else is out there aside from MOCs is fascinating… I especially love the 4 pack box. Frank, I know where to come for advice… I'll be bending your ear for Stormtrooper advice at some point…!!

Any time Martin, always happy to help if I can, there's loads of cool figure combinations in the MP's with loads of imperial figure options, I figured the 4 stormies pack may ignite a passion for you to look beyond carded, I agree the carded take ou back to what we were used to buying, more so outside of the USA as we did not get half the cool items they did, I was always at the toy shop the day they got their deliveries rooting through the boxes full of MOC's to make sure I got in there first, never once did I see a carded power droid though, always found that really strange.
