Well i learned that the overal grade can be different even with the same subgrades as for on ethe subgrade could be an 85, but leaning towards an 90 (meaning great shape) whilst the other could be an 85 leaning towards an 80, but just better than an 80. So that's why you can have the difference between the overal grades.

This is the exact reason why the overall grade came out as it has, funnily enough I just spoke to Steve yesterday about it & that was his answer, not this card but why overall grades can be different that sub grades on like for like sub graded items.

Funny I was just wondering about that, my card is UKG 75 with sub grades c75 b80 f85........ So 2 sub grades equal to the one shown..Ie Bubble and figure

Also wanted to add, that you have to be aware that the Card and Bubble subgrades have greater influence to the final grade as the Figure subgrade.

Having read this, am I to understand that this Blonde Hair Luke, Tri logo card is harder to find so...? thanks

Jeff

Nice Trilogo and if you believe some on here a bit of a rarity with that colour hair, although Joe doesn't believe this is the case, so I'm still confused.com

So the card and bubble sub-grades have a greater influence over the figure sub grade when deciding the overall grade :?: :?: :?: :?: Am I right :?

Well, yes there is some kind of greater influence, but not by far, for example a Moc with subs C85 B85 F80 has a greater chance to score an AFA85, whilst a Moc with SUBS C85 B80 F85 or C80 B85 F85, will more likely score an AFA80.
But this doesn't apply if the difference in score is bigger than 5 I guess.
So it surely doesn't count in extremis, e.g. you know the moc with the non sonic welded Luke X-wing Pilot, wich has fallen apart inside the bubble? The Card and Bubble scored well, but the oeral score is low because the figure scored a low grade here.
It's actually easy'er to show this with some examples. I have a MOC wich has the subs C80 B85 F90, overall grade is an 80, now if you shake the subs around and would say the subs would had been C90 B85 and F80, the overall score could had been an 85. Its actually more common to see Overall 85 Moc with an F80 score then another sub that is lower (this isn't a rule though).

But like I said, the grades don't come only from the subs shown on the label. Some 85 subs could be solid 85's wich could had been almost a 90, whilst other 85 subs are just above 80 and therefor barely reached the 85. So taking this factor for all 3 subs in account is what actually makes the overall score and therefor you sometimes see an identical moc (same subgrades) but with a different overall score.

Hope this helps a bit.

There are definitely more Brown haired Luke Trilogos out there than Blonde ones but I still wouldn't call it a rarity. It's just pot luck what shows up at times, many people have Blonde haired Luke's in their collections and didn't set out to get one, they just wanted a Luke and picked up one they were happy with.

I still think the price this sold for all boils down to the AFA 85 condition and not how rare the figure variant is.
