yes I saw that - I think it annoys people rather than helps with sales

Absolutely. It will be confusing for people who don't know vintage Star Wars and annoying to people who do. It's magnificently idiotic.

****s me right off when your looking for a certain figure and loads of auctions pop up that arent connected because ****wits have put other names in the title so it bring there auctions up in regular searches. AAAAHHHHH!! rant over.

I have never heard so much **** in my life than in his description of the figure.

'A big factory cock up for kenner i think'. How about a big ****ing cock up your arse, what a numpty. Someones bid on it as well!!!

Hi,

I'm the original lister of this figure and was directed to this forum via a message on eBay.

I don't know why you are so het up about it! Why have you "never heard so much ****" jedi_masters? Genuinely asking.

Hi there

Good to see you on the board - but if you are looking to stay an be part of the forum then I would hold back with the aggression.

This is your description

"Hi, you are bidding on a vintage Star Wars Han Solo Hoth figure. However, this appears to be s variant figure, as the head is a Bespin Security Guard figure instead of Han. I'm pretty sure this isn't a custom figure as I got the figure in a big batch of played with figures and this was one of them. He has play wear and lots of paint rubs which suggests to me that the figure was made this way. The head on the figure still turns 360 degrees - limbs are a little loose and ther are paint rubs (as said before). But, a fantastic variant figure - a big factory cock-up for Kenner I think - COO is Hong Kong; your chance for a unique figure! UK shipping and handling is £2.00, overseas £7.00. Sorry, I can't combine postage with other items, Thanks!"

100% this is not a 'variant' - do you honestly think this made it out on a card - how on earth would that have gotten past quality control

It is not unique - just a mix of two original figures, neither in very good condition. The price that you got for the figure should prove that this is not a 'fantastic variant figure'

If you want to learn about these figures then stick around - there are some very knowledgeable people on here

Hi,

Can you point me to any part of my post that was aggressive?

I know some stuff about Star Wars figures, but not an obsessive amount. As long as the person who bought the figure was happy with it then I don't see a problem.

And my item description was slightly tongue in cheek, if it wasn't I would have started it at a stupid price, 99p was fine for me!

OK, maybe not aggressive but certainly pretty confrontational for a first thread

If you say it was tongue in cheek then I guess we will have to believe you - it certainly doesn't read that way to me - and if you do know something about figures then I am amazed that you can call this a rare variant

Anyway - if you would like to introduce yourself and get acquainted with the board then I am sure that you will be able to increase your knowledge - if you want to :D

Hey, welcome to the forum.
Just to clear it up,
We will always discuss and take the piss out of listings like yours here. We are Star Wars collectors/geeks so when a listing like your comes up it both amuses and annoys us in equal measures. Amuses because it's misinformed and shows a figure with the wrong head on which has clearly been swapped by a child at some point and states it may be a factory error. There's probably a Bespin Guard with a Han Solo head on it somewhere. And it annoys because we have to sift through listings like this day in day out looking "proper" listings and that's not mention the astonishingly irritating heading which includes about 8 words too many.

I'm not trying to get at you but you asked. You don't have to give a toss about this stuff and no one would blame you if you didn't but this isn't the first ebay sale we've torn to shreds and hurled abuse (between ourselves) at the seller and it won't be the last.

If you do wanna stick around and learn a little more on, not just what these toys are and how to list them but also just generally how to list an ebay listing in general then you'll be made more than welcome. There are a lot of helpful people on this forum who would be more than willing to give you advise on these sort of things thus, eventually, increasing your ebay income.

Pete.

Not really, I was just told to come on here and check it out! Tone of voice is hard to discern on forums. It was a lot like this other auction that I was running at the same time, and this had more than one bid on it:

Not much of a collector anymore, sold all my figures and stuff to pay debts in 2005, so slowly trying to build up a collection whilst selling some figures. Simply cannot afford carded figures and boxed vehicles are out of my league. I used to have all the main figures loose, apart from a Blue Snaggletooth, and the following vehicles:

I don't know iif that picture will work, but you get the general idea.
